Chapter 267 Goldfish Scooping
Chapter 267 Goldfish Scooping
"Choose the smaller one," someone next to him said. "The larger ones can't be caught by the paper net."
"Small ones are easier to catch!"
Yan Xun smiled and thanked the person next to her for reminding her, "But my friend wants the big one."
Those nearby naturally noticed that Yan Xun arrived in a wheelchair. One of them imagined a touching story and encouraged Yan Xun, saying, "Then good luck!"
The white goldfish continued to swim slowly in the pond... and the remaining two paper nets met the same fate.
Yan Xun took out 20 yuan and handed it to the shopkeeper.
Three more torn paper nets.
Yan Xun handed over another 40 yuan.
The first three nets were torn again. Yan Xun squatted by the pond, feeling as if he had figured out some of the patterns in catching goldfish... It was just a pity that the paper net he took out this time was torn again.
"There are two left," someone next to me whispered. "Why don't you ask the shopkeeper and just buy them?"
"The money you spend catching goldfish is more than the money you spend on flowers."
"Let's try one last time," Yan Xun said, turning to look at Lou Yanchuan. "If we can't get it this time, then forget it."
Lou Yanchuan sat there and nodded slightly, "If we still can't get it... then of course we should forget about it."
Yan Xun turned around and saw the white goldfish slowly swimming past him again. He instantly sank the paper net in his hand into the water and, before the white goldfish could struggle, quickly scooped it into the plastic basin.
"Holy crap!" The onlookers started clapping.
Yan Xun looked at the remaining paper net in his hand. The net was slightly heavy, and he scooped up three small goldfish, each about half a finger long, in one go. He handed the plastic basin to the shop owner, who filled a plastic bag with water and packed it into two plastic fish bags that they could carry.
"Here you go." Yan Xun handed the bag containing the white goldfish to Lou Yanchuan.
Lou Yanchuan sat in his wheelchair, holding a red plastic rope, and raised the goldfish in his hand.
The white goldfish, with its fine, gauze-like tail, swam slowly inside the plastic bag… Lou Yanchuan watched for a while before saying to Yan Xun, “Thank you.”
"I love so much."
Yan Xun hung his goldfish on the handle behind his wheelchair, saying, "If you like, just carry it yourself."
Lou Yanchuan suddenly felt that the words sounded familiar... It wasn't until a parent with a child passed by and heard the similar "If you like it, just carry it yourself" that he laughed.
He was laughing so hard that he even bent over and clutched his stomach.
Yan Xun looked at Lou Yanchuan, who was laughing like this, puzzled. He couldn't understand what he had said that had made Lou Yanchuan laugh. He could only suspect that Lou Yanchuan was acting crazy again.
When Yan Xun was scooping up goldfish, he had already attracted a crowd of onlookers. The two of them were also conspicuous, and soon other players noticed them.
Du Yun walked over with a grilled sausage in his hand and greeted them, "You're just getting here?"
He then looked at the goldfish the two of them were carrying and said, "You two are playing with this too."
“Yes, I want it,” Lou Yanchuan said.
Yan Xun looked at Du Yun and just remembered the question she wanted to ask, "Which university did you graduate from?"
“It’s not in reality,” he added.
Du Yun paused, biting into the grilled sausage, then thought for a moment, "...I really didn't notice?"
Is this important?
"If it's important, I'll go home and look for it; maybe I can find some information."
"I guess so," Yan Xun said. "I found out that I graduated from the same school as Zhu Gan and the others."
"So I wanted to ask you guys."
"Maybe they were lazy and just set up a school in this instance," Du Yun said, but Yan Xun's words still bothered him. "I'll go home and look for it later."
"I'll tell you when I find it."
They were talking at a corner, next to a juice stall. Yan Xun bought three cups of juice and handed one to Du Yun.
Du Yun was flattered and overwhelmed. "Thank you, thank you!"
He didn't expect that Yan Xun, who seemed difficult to get along with, would actually buy him a drink.
Shu Fan and Duan Songen arrived at this time.
They glanced at the goldfish in Yan Xun's hand and discussed trying it out later. Then they heard Yan Xun ask them about their alma mater.
“Yunshan,” Duan Songen said.
“I’m from another school,” Shu Fan said.
She looked at Yan Xun, "The clues are related to our school?"
"Not really." Yan Xun repeated what he had just told Du Yun to Shu Fan and the other person. "It's just too coincidental."
Shu Fan nodded upon hearing this, "Indeed."
"However, I didn't graduate from Yunshan."
"Let's ask Fang Shuo and the others again later," Shu Fan said. "I think they should be on the carousel... there."
Shu Fan hesitated a bit when she mentioned the carousel, but probably because she couldn't think of a better way to address it, she continued to say it that way anyway.
Yan Xun nodded and pushed Lou Yanchuan toward the carousel.
He quickly found Fang Shuo and the other person.
Fang Shuo waved to him as soon as he saw him.
Yan Xun repeated the question from before.
"Me?" Fang Shuo thought for a moment. "I don't remember."
He looked at Lin Wen, "And you?"
“Me too,” Lin Wen said.
She looked at Yan Xun and asked, "Why are you suddenly curious about the universities we graduated from?"
Yan Xun sighed, suddenly regretting that he hadn't asked in the group, and then repeated what he had just said.
“I see…” Fang Shuo nodded, “Then I’ll go back and look for it right away.”
"We really are all graduates of Yunshan University."
"It might be related to our side quest."
As they were talking, Fang Shuo and his companion also lined up for the carousel. They greeted Yan Xun and then happily climbed onto the horses that were swishing their tails.
Yan Xun stared at it for a while.
"Want to play?" Lou Yanchuan asked.
"It's alright, I'm not that interested," Yan Xun said.
His gaze was drawn to what the children next to him were holding up... His eyes circled the market and soon spotted the stall.
"Wait here for me, I'm going to buy something," Yan Xun said.
Lou Yanchuan turned around, wanting to say something, but Yan Xun had already walked away.
He watched as Yan Xun walked through the crowd and went straight to the stall where he was selling his wares.
To attract customers, the stall had many fancy designs, the most eye-catching of which was probably a macaron-colored flower.
Lou Yanchuan, carrying the bag of goldfish, watched as Yan Xun suddenly waved and greeted the people behind the stall.
That person also took off their mask.
It was the bamboo pole from the house with the crew cut.
Lou Yanchuan looked at it for a while before looking away, and then he held up the white goldfish in his hand to admire it.
The goldfish swam slowly, its tail trailing behind it, oblivious to the man watching it from the outside.
Lou Yanchuan stared at it for a long time.
"You're still the prettiest."
