Chapter 128 Plot 3: Damn! I got slapped by a fish!
Bai Jin looked around again, wondering who had built this secret room or how long it had existed.
He found no clues, and before he could react, he turned around and saw He Siyun suddenly appear. At that moment, Bai Jin's heart skipped a beat, his face turned pale with fright, and his body involuntarily took a few steps back.
"You, you, you! Why did you suddenly appear? You scared me!" Bai Jin pointed at her with trembling fingers, his eyes full of disbelief.
He Siyun, however, started walking deeper as if he didn't see Bai Jin.
Bai Jin looked at her back, but he didn't dare let She Siyun leave alone, for fear of missing any important clues.
He quickly picked up Chao Chao and hurriedly followed He Siyun.
Chaochao was awakened by Bai Jin's action of picking her up. She moved her little body and adjusted her sitting position.
She saw Bai Jin holding a shiny ball in his other hand, and her two little hands immediately reached out to ask for it. He hurriedly handed the ball to her, and then hugged her tightly with both hands.
Chaochao was not holding the ball steadily in her hands, so Bai Jin helped her hold it.
The ball emitted a soft glow, illuminating the small area around it. Chao Chao looked down at the shining ball, her eyes filled with curiosity. She reached out her little hand and poked the ball. The ball would dent and then recover, which was fun.
Chaochao continued to poke and play with a smile on his face.
Chao Chao was very curious about what this thing was. He screamed "Ah... Ahhh" and grabbed Bai Jin's face to make him look at it.
Bai Jin looked down at Chao Chao and saw Chao Chao pointing at the ball, as if asking what it was.
"Water-repellent beads. Use this to breathe in water. Your father used to be a landlubber, so he made these specially for you." Bai Jin explained softly.
Chaochao seemed to understand but also felt that she didn’t understand. She just blinked her big eyes and continued to poke the water-repellent beads with her little hands.
While coaxing Chao Chao, Bai Jin followed He Siyun for a long time and finally came to a stone gate.
Bai Jin watched He Siyun walk right through. Curiously, he touched the stone door. It was cold, hard, and solid. "How did she get through?" Bai Jin muttered to himself.
He continued to touch the stone door with one hand, carefully checking whether there was any mechanism.
Bai Jin fumbled around the stone door for a long time but couldn't find any signs of a mechanism. He frowned, his confusion growing. How on earth had He Siyun managed to get through this solid stone door?
Chao Chao seemed to sense Bai Jin's confusion. She stopped poking at the water-repellent beads and looked at the stone door with curiosity. Bai Jin felt a little more at ease when she saw Chao Chao's cute appearance.
"Is there some special way to open this stone door?" Bai Jin muttered to himself. He began to recall everything he had seen along the way, trying to find some clues.
My mind was in a mess and I had no idea what to do.
Just when Bai Jin was at his wit's end, he suddenly felt the water-repellent bead in his hand warm up slightly. He looked at the bead in surprise, only to see the light it emitted become even brighter.
Bai Jin's heart moved. Could it be that the water-repellent beads were related to this stone door? He carefully held the water-repellent beads and approached the stone door. The moment the water-repellent beads touched the stone door, a strange light flashed.
The stone gate began to vibrate slowly, and the symbols and patterns on it seemed to come alive, constantly flashing with light. Bai Jin stared at the stone gate nervously, not knowing what would happen next.
As the light grew stronger, a blurry image appeared on the stone gate. The image seemed to be an ancient ritual scene, with a group of people surrounding a mysterious object, chanting something.
Bai Jin tried hard to see the details in the image, but it was blurry and difficult to make out. Just as he was concentrating on observing the image, Chao Chao suddenly stretched out his little hand and pointed to a place in the image.
Bai Jin followed Chao Chao's finger and saw a small, faint spot in the image. He had a strong premonition that this spot might be the key to opening the stone door.
Bai Jin picked up the water-repellent beads again and gently moved towards the bright spot. The moment the water-repellent beads touched the bright spot, the stone door made a loud noise and slowly opened.
The first to emerge was a group of seawater, which instantly filled the entire space, almost sweeping the two people, one large and one small, away. The powerful impact startled Bai Jin, and he quickly hugged Chao Chao tightly, trying to steady himself.
Fortunately, the water-repellent beads not only allowed people to breathe underwater, but also had a defensive formation. The water-repellent beads emitted a soft light, quickly forming a protective shield around Bai Jin and Chao Chao.
The seawater hit the protective shield, creating ripples, but it couldn't break through the defense. Bai Jin looked at the protective shield and felt a little relieved, thankful that he had added an extra defensive formation.
Bai Jin looked up at the ceiling and saw that it was covered with sea water. The sea water directly submerged the secret room. The originally dim secret room had now turned into a mysterious underwater world.
Bai Jin hadn't noticed Chao Chao. As he was looking down, he saw a fish in Chao Chao's hand. Chao Chao's eyes, wide open and as clear as the water of a lake, stared at the fish curiously.
Her little hand gently touched the fish's scales, which gleamed faintly under the light emitted by the water-repellent beads. The fish struggled in Chaochao's hand, twisting its small body, but soon it calmed down again, as if it felt the pure breath from Chaochao.
"How come there's a fish? It's not a skeleton fish." Bai Jin looked at the fish with a puzzled look in his eyes, and then he couldn't help but reach out and touch it. Unexpectedly, the fish suddenly became aggressive, stood up, and slapped Bai Jin hard with its tail.
The slap left Bai Jin stunned, his mouth wide open, eyes filled with astonishment. He stared blankly at the fish quietly returning to Chao Chao's hand, as if nothing had happened.
Bai Jin finally realized what was happening. "Holy crap! I got slapped by a fish!" A small wave of anger welled up in Bai Jin's heart. He felt a little aggrieved that he had been bullied by a fish. He reached out and hit the fish, a little petty.
"I'm giving you face! Hit me!" Bai Jin cursed as he beat the fish, his emotions becoming increasingly agitated. When he saw the fish seemed to be rolling its eyes at him, his anger surged even higher.
"Wow! Quite clever." Bai Jin realized that this fish seemed unusual. He knew that the slap was intentional. Thinking of this, he became furious and slapped the fish's tail again.
