Chapter 1001 - 960: Not Afraid of Filth, Not Afraid of Tiredness, Not Afraid of Hardship
Sienna Johnson felt a weight lifted off her heart. With Adrian Desmond taking care of Sheehan, she could focus on her work without any worries.
"Did you find out who hurt Sheehan?" Sienna asked.
"Auntie Poppy!"
"Why would she do that?" Sienna’s eyes flashed with a murderous intent, like a mother beast protecting her cub.
"I don’t know! And I have no interest in knowing! I just know she hurt Sheehan.
I’ve already asked Sabrina Conner to teach her a lesson! She’ll pay for her actions."
Adrian had no interest in hearing Auntie Poppy’s explanation and going soft on her for her predicament.
To deal with enemies, just kill them directly!
"Don’t let her off!" Sienna said.
"I know."
...
Eastminster Group, 10 a.m.
Sienna Johnson had just finished a high-level meeting when Vivian Abbey came over to tell her that Adrian was waiting for her in the office with Sheehan.
Sienna pushed the door open and immediately saw Adrian, who was holding the child by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the view outside.
The office’s floor-to-ceiling window was semi-circular. Standing there, one could overlook half of Sileria City. Especially at night, when the lights below were as brilliant as stars, standing there felt like standing on the Milky Way.
"Is Sheehan hungry again?"
"Uh-huh."
Sienna took her son, gave him a kiss, and carried him behind the screen, unbuttoning her clothes to feed him.
Adrian walked over, leaning against the wall, arms crossed, watching Sienna with a gaze that resembled a hungry wolf.
"Was he not a little rascal today?"
After waiting a while without a response from Adrian, Sienna looked up and saw him staring at a part of her that shouldn’t be seen.
"Where are you looking?"
"At those two lumps of meat on your chest!"
Sienna: ...
"Ten days left!"
Adrian counted down every day in front of her. Every time she saw his ravenous eyes, Sienna would shiver inside, terribly afraid of that day’s arrival.
On that day, she felt she might not even have her bones left after Adrian had his way.
"It smells so bad..." Sienna heard a sound, followed by a stench.
Adrian took over and said, "Is this kid’s digestive tract a straight line? How can he poop while eating?"
"Did you bring diapers?"
"Brought them."
Adrian held the stinky little thing and went to change the diaper. Sienna tidied her clothes behind the screen and came out to see Adrian expertly changing Sheehan’s diaper.
"All done." Adrian patted Sheehan’s little butt and said.
Adrian picked up Sheehan and joked, "Son, in the future, when you need to poop, can you give me a signal?"
Turning his head, he saw Sienna watching him intently. Adrian smugly said, "Mrs. Desmond, captivated by me, can’t even move your eyes."
"Adrian, I really didn’t expect you to take care of a child."
"Taking care of a child isn’t difficult, just requires a bit of care and patience. The main thing is not being afraid of dirt, tiredness, or hardship."
Sienna came over, gave Adrian a kiss, and said, "Sixth Master, you’ve had it hard."
"Don’t be insincere with me; I want something more practical."
"After ten days, I’m all yours!"
Adrian gave her a kiss and, satisfied, said, "That’s more like it."
Adrian chased after Sienna’s lips and kissed them passionately. Sienna, also stirred by his teasing, slightly opened her eyes to see a pair of large, curious eyes. It was like a bucket of cold water was poured over her, extinguishing all the fire.
"Our son is watching."
"Good, then he can learn."
"Stop it..."
He chased her, kissing as Sienna avoided it. The two were kissing for so long that when they parted, it made a "pop" sound, which was rather suggestive.
The office door was knocked on, and Vivian, knowing Adrian was inside, didn’t dare enter in case she saw something she shouldn’t.
"President Johnson, President Davis is here. Do you want him to come directly to your office or go to the reception room?"
"Take him to the reception room."
Sheehan had pooped, and the smell hadn’t dissipated yet.
Sienna looked reluctantly at her son, kissed him, and said, "Sheehan, go home with Dad. Mom will be back after work, okay?"
"..."
"You take him home then."
Adrian wasn’t happy and said gloomily, "Why do you kiss him and not me?"
Sienna gave Adrian a somewhat perfunctory kiss, a light peck like a dragonfly touching water, which Adrian found unsatisfying.
Not enough!
He grabbed her slender waist, pulling her towards him, and the two shared a long, passionate French kiss. When they parted, Sienna was breathless, with eyes full of soft allure. Adrian, thinking about how she would meet customers with this expression later, felt a deep frustration.
"Is money really that important? You’d rather leave your husband and child to meet those bald old men."
"It’s a career!"
"Mrs. Desmond, actually, I want to tell you, making so much money is really unnecessary."
Seeing him clingy and not letting her go, Sienna could only hug him and kiss for a while, then slowly said,
"Maybe one day, when I have as much money as you, I might have this realization too! But... not now!"
"Ignoring me and the child for money, is it worth it?"
"An eight-hour workday—after work, I go home. How is that neglect? Be good; after work, I’ll go home and make braised pork ribs for you."
Having gained enough favors, Adrian didn’t dare to push his luck further. Sienna had told him the story of "The Fisherman and the Golden Fish," and he didn’t want to end up like the old woman in the story, who lost everything by being too greedy.
"Well, Sheehan and I are leaving. Don’t tire yourself out."
"Not tired." This level of work intensity is hardly tiring at all, right? Sienna didn’t feel tired at all.
Sienna walked them to the elevator, only heading to see the client after the elevator doors closed.
Watching Sienna completely immersed in happiness, Vivian said enviously, "I didn’t expect Sixth Master to have such a domestic side."
"What about Brett Jacobs? Isn’t Brett good?"
Vivian complained, "Lots of flaws—he’s untidy, spends money extravagantly... and is chauvinistic..."
"With so many flaws, just dump him. I can introduce you to someone better."
Vivian changed her tone, defending Brett, "People, who don’t have flaws? Men have more flaws. As long as he takes care of the family, doesn’t cheat, and doesn’t gamble, it’s fine."
"Isn’t your standard too low?"
"That’s my only requirement."
Sienna suddenly stopped, staring at Vivian’s neck, and said, "This iris-shaped key pendant, I’ve seen it in the showcase, it’s not cheap. You’re usually very frugal, would never buy something so expensive. Did Brett give it to you?"
"Yes, he did. It made me so angry. More than 4.5 thousand dollars. Would’ve been better if he gave me cash."
