Chapter 1078: Supreme Yun warrior (1)
Chapter 1078
Grey’s whole world almost went black if it wasn’t for sheer grit that made him grit his teeth hard.
When that wasn’t enough, he proceeded to bite his lower lip with all his might, so much so that the skin busted with blood trickling outward.
The pain that had exploded through his frame was so intense that it felt like going through a meat grinder.
No... an industrial engine.
Before he could even think or regain composure, Gustav’s second fist crashed into his face with equal force as before.
Grey felt his nose crack and shift out of place as his entire body was driven deeper into the crater, which had now become a hundred meters deep and wide.
It was like being thrown into a dry canyon.
Blood poured outward in such waves that the mage doubted if there was any more fluid left in his system at this point.
A third blow was coming in hot toward his neck.
Through his almost blurry vision, he was able to spot the fist blurring through the air toward him.
Clenching his jaws, the warrior mage shifted his head to the side just in time as the punch crashed through the ground where his head had just occupied.
If before he felt that the earth couldn’t be broken any further, he was wrong.
The duo were instantly plummeting into what could be described as an abyss.
Uncaring, before Gustav could regain his balance, Grey’s legs shot forward, but he could see the chains snapping toward him.
Twisting around the obstruction, he managed to curl his limbs around Gustav’s bulky neck before shifting his hip and sending the demon crashing backward, creating a deep hole in the abysmal earth wall.
Not wasting time, the warrior mage quickly vaulted upward and burst out of the subterranean hollow.
He landed a few dozen meters away before allowing himself to collapse onto the ground, coughing violently.
Not even a second had passed when he saw Gustav fly out of the hole, hovering calmly above the ground.
’Come on. Give me a break, damn it!’
Mid-air, the ground rumbled and trembled with violent force as thousands of metal spikes burst out of the earth, covering the whole plain and quickly launching toward the warrior mage.
Clasping his teeth together, Grey shot to his feet amidst protest from his own body.
A pair of heavy ki hammers materialized in his hands, and he proceeded to dash toward the metal projectiles with blazing speed.
Within mere seconds, he collided with the spikes in a rain of movements befitting a true warrior.
His hammers blurred forward, crashing through the obstacles and sending them clattering away onto the ground.
Each movement of his body was fluid, fast, and incredibly sharp, so much so that anyone who saw him wouldn’t have guessed that he was severely injured.
He kept moving, raw determination coursing through his every stride and strike.
Raw passion to finish Gustav fast fueled his frame and attacks, such that within a minute, the spikes were all gone, only for the demon to suddenly appear before him with a fluid, precise uppercut rocketing toward the mage’s chin.
It was as if the warrior mage had already anticipated this in time, his head snapping to the side to allow the fist to pass by harmlessly.
Then came the chains that blurred toward his body, hoping to rip through.
Though he had the augmentation of his ki, it still wasn’t nearly enough against these lightning-fast assaults from Gustav.
It was like the man had suddenly increased in velocity the moment he revealed his demon form.
And to think Grey had been fighting him on equal grounds for a while now and almost winning.
Now, he wasn’t even gaining a breathing space as he stared at the chains heading his way with blurring momentum.
Left with no other option, his hands snapped into place as he lifted the hammers, intercepting the attachments which still carried enough force to send his body shooting backward like an arrow.
Gustav smiled at this sight as, glowing directly behind the warrior mage, a crackling orb of lightning smashed into his back with obliterating force.
Grey’s eyes widened as a rush of electrifying pain surged through his very being, slamming him into the ground and creating another giant crater.
Dust billowed into the air as his frame was paralyzed from the orb of lightning, forcing him to remain on the ground while the debris slowly settled to reveal Gustav walking toward him with unhurried steps, knowing that the warrior mage wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Finally, he stood over Grey, who was twitching, trying his best to stand up but failing; all he could do was stare at the demon’s shadow, which was cast over him like a shroud.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I forgot to inform you about one thing," Gustav uttered as he crouched down in front of the warrior mage.
"When you were born, I had also decided to check if you inherited my demon traits, but unfortunately, you didn’t. If you did, you would have been stronger than you are, and you won’t be dying so shamelessly."
Rising upright, the demon sighed tiredly.
"What a waste. Bye now."
His leg shot downward with blazing force when a small smile cracked open on Grey’s face, as if he had just been struck by an epiphany.
Gustav didn’t see this smile as he committed to his strike, when suddenly, he spotted the ground beneath his other foot—it was glowing.
’Huh?’
The glow was a bright yellow one.
With a click of Grey’s tongue, an explosion rippled outward, blasting the demon away with crushing force so that he flew backward with blazing speed.
But before he could crash through the air, he halted abruptly.
’What was that? A trap?’
Finally, the paralysis effect wore off, and the Supreme Magus could be seen rising to his feet with a strange smile on his face.
"Of course. I was a fool. The universe had always placed it in front of my face that I’m special. Wielding five affinities that are so broken that even the demons are worried about my existence."
Grey cracked his neck left and right as he grabbed his already torn shirt and ripped it off, revealing his immensely toned muscles and abs.
It was as if his frame was crafted from stone.... No, marble.
"If I can become the Supreme Magus by wielding different affinities, what’s stopping me from becoming a Supreme Yun warrior by wielding different clan techniques?"
Gustav lifted a brow of confusion, only to see a sword flash into Grey’s hand and, almost immediately, a crushing wave of yellow water rippled around the blade.
