Chapter 1510: She Fainted
Chapter 1510: She Fainted
What did she say?
Her first reaction upon finding out she’s pregnant is to abort his child?
He’s seen plenty of women wanting to bear his children to rise in status, but she’s the first of her kind he’s ever encountered.
Ethan Barnes chuckled in anger, "Fine, then we are in agreement. You don’t want to have my child, and I don’t want you to have it either. I’ve already ordered someone to prepare an abortion potion. Drink it obediently later."
He actually had someone prepare an abortion potion?
Celeste Linden knew he would surely want to get rid of this child, but she didn’t expect him to be so quick.
"No, I won’t drink it." Celeste refused.
Ethan quickly smiled, thinking that the woman who insisted on getting rid of his baby just hesitated at the mention of the potion. Did he discover her true feelings?
She didn’t really want to abort his child. She still hoped to give birth to it.
This realization inexplicably lightened Ethan’s mood, "Celeste Linden, don’t you think you’re slapping your own face?"
"At first, I did want to terminate this pregnancy, but this is also my child. He’s done nothing wrong; he’s just an innocent little life. I won’t take the potion, Ethan. Let me go. I’ll take the child far away, so it won’t affect your life in any way."
Ethan thought she was being contradictory. She clearly didn’t want to abort his child but still came up with countless excuses. He arched an eyebrow and said, "You say that, but how do I know the child won’t come back in a few years to disrupt my life? I don’t want an illegitimate child contesting my estate. Let’s just end it now."
"No," Celeste quickly placed her small hand on her flat belly, "Ethan, don’t harm my child."
At that moment, the door opened, and a maid came in with a bowl of dark potion, "Master, the medicine you requested is ready."
The abortion potion had arrived. Celeste’s pupils constricted, and her limbs turned cold. She wanted to escape this place; she didn’t want anyone to hurt her child.
Ethan took the potion and said, "Celeste Linden, open your mouth and drink it. The doctor said since it’s early, the damage will be minimal."
Celeste retreated, shaking her head as she stepped back, "I won’t, I already said I won’t drink it. Ethan, have some humanity, please. To what extent do you want to push me?"
"You ruined my life. What does it matter to me how great Carlotta is and how touching your love is? Why did you wreck my life? I didn’t finish my studies properly in college; you’ve broken my leg, tortured my body, captured me when I tried to escape, and imprisoned me here. Now I’m pregnant, and my life is a mess."
"I didn’t want this child either, but now I can’t let go. This is your child too. Can’t you give us a way out?"
"What must I do for you to let me go? Do I need to kneel? Fine, I’ll kneel now."
Thud.
Celeste immediately knelt on the carpet, "Ethan, I beg you, please let me and the child go. I can barely breathe, I feel like you’re driving me insane."
Ethan looked at the woman kneeling before him, and his handsome face suddenly turned cold. Damn this woman, what’s she doing?
"Celeste Linden, get up! Who told you to kneel?"
"Is kneeling not enough? Fine, I’ll kowtow, a hundred times."
Thunk, thunk, thunk.
Celeste began kowtowing, her forehead heavily hitting the carpet, creating a dull and jarring sound.
Ethan’s face was clouded with anger. He immediately stepped forward, grabbed her arm, and yanked her off the carpet, "Celeste Linden, stand up. You better not make me angry."
"Will you let us go if I do? Will you give us a chance to live? If I give birth to this child, I’ll absolutely never tell him who his father is. If you don’t believe me, you can poison me mute, and I won’t speak a word. You won’t have any worries."
When did he say he would poison her mute?
Good, so if she gives birth, she won’t tell the child who his father is? Then why should he let her keep the child, for amusement?
Ethan pressed his thin lips together. "Celeste Linden, let’s not bother. Drink the potion, and everything will be fine."
Saying this, Ethan brought the potion to her lips.
No.
Celeste, like a frightened fawn, slapped the bowl away.
The black potion splattered all over Ethan’s white shirt, creating a mess.
"Celeste Linden, have you gone mad?" Ethan was furious and raised his hand to hit her.
Startled, Celeste hugged her head tightly.
But Ethan’s hand froze in mid-air, not going down. This damn woman, he wanted to hit her, but he couldn’t bring himself to.
Then Celeste’s vision went black, and she collapsed onto the carpet.
"Celeste!"
Ethan’s eyes widened in shock, and he quickly wrapped her in his arms, shaking her shoulder with urgency, showing an unrecognized pain and anxiety, "Celeste! Celeste!"
Before Celeste closed her eyes, she heard him call her "Celeste," but she didn’t know if he was calling her or Carlotta.
...
Outside, Carlotta went to Ethan’s study, but it was empty; Ethan wasn’t there.
Where did Ethan go?
At that moment, Carlotta saw a doctor hurriedly going into Celeste’s room.
Carlotta was puzzled. Why would a doctor go to her cousin’s room?
Carlotta also approached, and when she reached the door, she saw Ethan.
Ethan grabbed the doctor’s collar and shouted, "Check her immediately and see what’s wrong. If something happens to her, I’ll make sure you all accompany her in death."
The doctor was sweating profusely from the fear; these days, being a doctor was a high-risk profession—the cost always fell on them.
"Yes, yes." The doctor quickly proceeded to examine Celeste.
Carlotta stood frozen by the door. It was her first time seeing Ethan like this—tense to the point of losing control, with a fearful look on his face. Even when she was brought back injured and lying in bed, he wasn’t like this.
He was always restrained and gentle with her, filled with guilt and remorse. He never treated her like this.
Now he was acting this way towards her cousin?
Carlotta immediately frowned, feeling from the beginning that her cousin was different. She couldn’t quite explain it; Ethan’s gaze towards her cousin was different.
The last time her cousin accidentally entered her room, Ethan pushed her away.
Now Carlotta was sure, there was definitely a story between Ethan and her cousin.
