Chapter 281: Hellstorm Lady
Chapter 281: Hellstorm Lady
Raizen reached into his pocket and pulled out a single gold coin, and then he walked to the corner store.
The corner store was a dimly lit place. It was player-owned, with its door currently opened. The shop didn’t seem too active.
By the door of the store, a fedora-wearing player seemed to be napping with his head drooping low, a small snore escaping his lips every few seconds.
Snore~ Snore~ Snore~!
There was a hat lying before his feet. It had several gold coins in it. It was very open, and anybody could just snatch them up.
However.
Not a single player took another gaze at the money and completely ignored this napping player.
’Who is this?’
Fang Raon wondered.
Snore~ Snore~ Snore~!
In that moment, Raizen tossed a gold coin into the hat and then turned to Raon and told him to do the same.
’I don’t know why I need to do that, but I guess I’ll do it.’
Fang Raon thought, and then he pulled out a gold coin from his inventory and tossed it into the hat.
Then.
Raizen walked past the napping player and entered the store, and Raon did the same, but then his ears perked.
Snore~ Snore~ Sno—
The snoring abruptly stopped.
He side-eyed the fedora-wearing player, but his head was still hanging low, as if he were still sleeping.
’Strange...’
Fang Raon then entered the store.
Snore~ Snore~ Snore~!
As soon as he did, the snoring continued.
Fang Raon took a good look around the store. It looked like an antique store. He noticed that the shelves were filled with dusty old books and trinkets.
’What a strange place. There are some school books on this shelf and some old, dusty, abandoned dolls with missing limbs on that shelf over there.
’Do people bring old stuff here that nobody wants? I can’t imagine anybody wanting to buy these things, though.
’The store owner definitely hasn’t taken good care of these items. Hadn’t even tried to fix them up.’
Fang Raon thought.
Raizen walked to the front desk, which was empty currently, and rang the golden bell that was sitting on the desk.
"Address the store owner as Young Miss. She hates if you mention her age. Praising her won’t hurt either."
He said.
"...Okay."
Fang Raon walked over.
A while later, they heard footsteps coming from the back, and at that moment, a gray-haired woman walked over.
She had her hair in a high bun with two strands of hair hanging down on both sides of her face. She was wearing a long, black dress with intricate gold embroidery.
While, at first glance, she seemed like she was in her late thirties, she was actually much older than that.
She was approaching her eighties.
"Raizen, what a pleasant surprise."
Sadie said with a smile on her beautiful face.
"Hello, Sadie."
Raizen responded with a smile of his own.
"...And who is this one?"
Sadie looked over, noticing a young man standing beside Raizen, and he noticed some similarities between the two.
"My brother."
Raizen said.
"Nice to meet you, Young Miss. My name is Raon."
Fang Raon bowed respectfully.
Hearing the "Young Miss," a happy smile appeared on Sadie’s face, and she seemed like she was already liking this boy!
"My name is Sadie Hellstorm, and I am the owner of this small store. I go a long way back with your brother. I, honestly, didn’t know you had a second brother, Raizen."
Sadie said with a surprise.
"He is a... better one."
Raizen said.
"Ah..."
Sadie chuckled.
For a moment, she had her reservations about Fang Raon because of Raikou, actually, as she had a really poor relationship with him.
Raikou once visited her store with his guild of Bastard Men, and well... that didn’t end well, and ever since then, Raikou had been banned from this store.
Thus, when Raikou said that Raon was the better one, it meant that he wasn’t like Raikou.
"What are you here for? I heard that Dead Redemption has been quite busy over at the 56th floor.
"For you to come here in the midst of all that... You must be here for an important reason."
Sadie said.
"...A legacy skill for my brother. We want to see your collection."
Raizen said.
"Okay. Follow me then."
Sadie reached her hand towards her cleavage and pulled out a small ornate key from between her big breasts.
She then walked to the door at the back and unlocked it and then started walking down the stairs while the two of them followed behind.
The basement was entirely different than the store above.
It was well-lit with glass cabinets lining the walls, showcasing various artifacts and treasures. Shiny weapons hung from the walls, long swords and daggers glinting in the light.
The ceiling was wood-made, with words written in an ancient language into the wooden beams as if they were spells cast to protect the store.
In the middle of the basement, there was a mahogany table, shaped like a hexagon, with a map of the world etched into its surface.
It was a map of the real world.
The table had several drawers, but they were all tightly locked.
At that moment, Sadie walked to the table, pulled yet another key, and opened one of the drawers.
It was filled with scrolls.
And they weren’t some shitty skill and spell scrolls either. They were all mighty, high-tiered scrolls!
"My ladies just discovered a couple new legacies over at the 49th floor. They found some mass grave with close to a dozen legacy characters dead."
Sadie said.
"...Really?"
Raizen said in surprise, and then he looked at Fang Raon, who looked confused about all of this.
"Sadie is also the guild leader of Hellstorm Ladies. They’re the 12th-ranked guild in the tower."
"Oh, wow."
Fang Raon said in surprise.
"This is all the legacies that we got."
Sadie placed several scrolls on the table. About twelve of them. It was a widespread collection, as most players never encounter even one.
"What’s the strongest one?"
Raizen asked.
"...If I had to guess, it would be this one."
Sadie unrolled the scroll, allowing everyone a glimpse of what the scroll said, and Raizen kept nodding his head.
"The legacy of Crux the Cannibal. It was rumored that he had devoured over a hundred humans in a single night.
"In a battle, it was said that he was as ferocious as a wild beast, tearing his enemies apart with unmatched brutality. It’s a good legacy. Strong one."
Sadie said.
"...What do you say?"
Raizen turned to his brother, asking, but quickly saw that he wasn’t really feeling the "Cannibal" legacy.
"Yeah... I’d rather not become a cannibal myself. Anything else?"
Fang Raon wryly smiled.
"Hehe~ What about this one?"
Sadie took the cannibal legacy away and opened yet another scroll right in front of them.
"Smart Monster Hugo’s Legacy. He was a bodybuilder who lived hundreds of years ago. A monster of physical strength.
"However, while most would assume that he sacrificed his intelligence for the exchange of strength, it was quite the opposite. Hugo was not only physically powerful but also incredibly intelligent."
"He graduated from Ruze University, top of his class, and he became one of the most important mathematicians of his time."
Sadie said.
"Hmm..."
Fang Raon frowned.
He wasn’t too sure about this either.
"Sure, this legacy does suit Tank’s more. It is a very physical class, and Hugo wasn’t fond of weapons either, so if you choose this legacy, you won’t be using any more weapons, that’s for sure."
Sadie said.
"...Can I take a look at them myself?"
Fang Raon asked.
"Sure."
Sadie nodded.
"There is also something that I need, Sadie."
Raizen said.
"Okay, let’s go talk over there."
Sadie took Raizen to the back of the basement, where they talked in whispers, and it looked like Raizen’s request took Sadie off guard.
Meanwhile.
Raon went through the scrolls, and one by one, he was kind of disappointed, as he felt like none of them really fit him.
’Yeah, I am not too sure.’
He thought, but then, in that moment, he opened the second-last scroll, and his eyes widened in a surprise.
’Oh god...’

’This feels like a destiny, honestly. What are the chances that I come across another of Aurel’s legacy skills? Crazy...
’This is one Tier higher than that of Aurel’s Blade Dance, but honestly, I feel like I can learn this easier.
’It is easier for me to learn sword skills than dance skills, so I might be able to reach level 3 quickly.’
Fang Raon thought.
He took the scroll from the pile and looked at the drawing of a slender-bodied person slicing the heads off of enemy soldiers.
’This is it... I must get this.’
He thought with a serious look on his face.
"It looks like you’ve decided on the scroll that you want."
Sadie then walked over with a smile on her face, and Fang Raon nodded and handed her the scroll.
"I want this."
"Hmm?"
Sadie looked over the scroll, and honestly, she looked pretty surprised by the choice and then chuckled.
"I have to warn you, Aurel is a Dancing Blademan. It means that he uses dance moves in battle instead of traditional fighting techniques."
"I know, but I still want this."
Fang Raon said.
"Okay. And I am guessing, Raizen, you’re paying?"
Sadie looked at Raizen, and he nodded, as paying for this scroll wasn’t a problem for him, as he had more than enough to afford it.
"Okay~"
She said and started heading up the stairs with Raizen and Raon slowly following behind her.
"...You still chose Aurel."
Raizen looked at him.
"Yes. I feel like this is... the correct choice."
Fang Raon said.
"Mm, follow your gut feeling. That’s the best way."
Raizen said.
