Chapter 1718: Sealed Land of the Ancient Pagoda
Chapter 1718: Sealed Land of the Ancient Pagoda
Various materials are mixed together, and there’s also something that seems like blood.
Nie Qing’s brow furrowed tighter and tighter.
If it is really blood, then it would be a bit troublesome. If we can’t find the person whose blood was used, it’s simply impossible to break the curse.
Lou Lan noticed his solemn expression and inquired.
Upon learning that there might be blood involved, Lou Lan relaxed a bit and said, "What’s the big deal? If it’s blood, there must be DNA. I can check that."
"The worry is if the blood isn’t from this era. If it’s the blood of a spy from a thousand years ago, then that’s problematic."
"Then we’ll find his descendants; there will always be a way."
Hearing this, Nie Qing patted his forehead: "Maybe we can."
The two began experimenting and searching.
Little Taotie, feeling a bit bored, silently took out a gold brick.
Silently took out a second gold brick.
Silently took out a third gold brick...
Hua Jinyan: "...Are you planning to build with blocks?"
Little Taotie giggled and handed him one: "Wanna join?"
Hua Jinyan didn’t refuse.
So, when Nie Qing and Lou Lan finished their tasks and looked back, they found the two kids squatting there, using gold bricks to build a house.
Nie Qing: "You really know how to play."
Lou Lan shook his head: "Fortunately, the curse doesn’t affect them; otherwise, who knows how they’d have died by now."
Lou Lan didn’t dare to approach those gold bricks, and Nie Qing kept his distance automatically; both could feel the chilling aura emanating from them.
Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan had no such worries.
"Can’t find anything." Lou Lan gave up.
Either too many years have passed, or it was never just one type of blood, or perhaps it’s not human blood at all.
Nie Qing never had high hopes, so he wasn’t too disappointed.
"Let’s go and have a look at the Ancient Pagoda." Nie Qing suggested.
He had never been to the Ancient Pagoda nor seen the seal around it.
Lou Lan thought for a moment: "I’ll take you there."
Little Taotie quickly put down the gold bricks: "I want to go too."
But Lou Lan shook his head: "You stay here and play, we’ll be back soon."
Little Taotie refused, tugging at Lou Lan’s hem.
Lou Lan: "..."
Looking down at the pitiful look on the little girl, Lou Lan eventually agreed.
Little Taotie flashed a victory sign to Hua Jinyan.
Nie Qing drove, Lou Lan closed his eyes for a nap, and Little Taotie chattered about her dreams into Hua Jinyan’s ear.
When they arrived at the Ancient Pagoda, Little Taotie was the first to get out of the car, running towards the Sealed Land of the Ancient Pagoda. Just as she reached the seal’s range, the little girl’s steps halted because the Horse-Faced Bell hanging at her waist was pulling her back.
The small bell had a surprisingly strong pull.
Little Taotie stopped, curiously looking at the Horse-Faced Bell, which contained gold bricks and dead branches.
Originally, she thought that the gold bricks and dead branches might fight each other, but being in one bell, they turned out to be quite friendly, not attacking each other, but staying distinctly separate.
Little Taotie removed the Horse-Faced Bell from her waist and shook it hard several times, "Why aren’t you letting me go forward? Is there something strange ahead?"
Just then, Lou Lan approached, his gaze falling on the ground: "There’s a seal here, or a formation. It doesn’t want you stepping into this range."
Nie Qing had already taken out a compass and started calculating mysteriously.
Hua Jinyan squinted, meticulously scrutinizing the fine patterns on the ground, even the growth trajectory and length of a single blade of grass, which seemed to hold significance.
A breeze blew by, causing Nie Qing to shiver: "It’s a seal."
