Chapter 5 Foot Injury
Chapter 5 Foot Injury
"It's Momo's voice!"
Sana Minatozaki immediately realized what had happened and rushed to the place where Momo had been in trouble. At this point, Mina Mina felt too embarrassed to continue catching up with Xie Mingmu, so she decided to go to Momo's place with Sana.
"Sorry, now is not the time for catching up."
Mina smiled slightly at Xie Mingmu, then took Minatozaki Sana's hand and ran towards the stairs.
The two women had some uneasy thoughts in their minds. Hirai Momo was the dance lead in their group, and she always practiced much more than them. So, her foot injury was an old one that hadn't healed before a new one appeared. They were very worried about her health.
Xie Mingmu's spellcasting animation was interrupted, and he couldn't say what he was going to say. He could only wave his hand and say that he would wait for another opportunity.
However, Xie Mingmu suddenly remembered something. Since the sound was so pitiful, he decided to follow her. If she couldn't stand up, he could help her.
Based on this idea, Xie Mingmu followed Mingjing and the others up the stairs. When they reached the stairs, he immediately saw the girl who had bumped into him earlier, causing his nose to bleed profusely; she was pale-faced.
The other members surrounded Hirai Momo, looking worried, while their manager frantically made a phone call.
Mina looked at Hirai Momo with heartache; her ankle was swollen like a head full of dough. "Let's get Momo-chan to the hospital quickly."
A little girl with dark skin nervously wiped away the cold sweat that kept pouring out of Hirai Momo's face with a tissue.
At this moment, the team leader demonstrated her responsibility as the leader, saying, "How about this, my manager and I will go to the hospital with Momo. You guys go back to the dorm and get some rest. We still have to do some promotional work this afternoon. We'll see how things are at the hospital and then we can discuss it further."
"Ouch." Hirai Momo gasped. "I never thought I'd twist my ankle just by hopping down the stairs. I'll never do that again."
"How about this, let me go with Momo. Captain, you should stay with the team. We absolutely can't have any more problems. It'll be easier to communicate with you there, and I'll keep you updated on the situation."
At this moment, Lim Nayeon was still blowing air onto Hirai Momo's ankle, trying to relieve Hirai Momo's pain.
Xie Mingmu looked at the rabbit teeth speechlessly: "What you're doing is completely useless."
Lim Nayeon turned to look at him and saw it was that strange man: "What? Who are you?"
"I'm here to help you!" Xie Mingmu looked at the panicked agent, who was now making phone calls to his boss instead of caring about the girl. "If you're counting on this person, this girl on the ground will be lying in a hospital bed for days."
"Do you have a solution?"
Mina looked at Xie Mingmu suspiciously. Although her father was a doctor, it didn't mean she, Mina, was particularly knowledgeable about common medical knowledge. The other girls also looked at Xie Mingmu. Although they didn't know him, his demeanor gave them a sense of reliability.
"Watch closely, learn carefully!" Xie Mingmu walked over, picked up the towel, felt its warmth, and said to the short-haired girl, "Why are you using a hot compress? Aren't you trying to cripple this seemingly silly girl's leg?"
Upon hearing this, the short-haired girl quickly removed the towel, but still instinctively said, "But, usually in this situation, shouldn't we cover the wound with a hot towel?"
Xie Mingmu glanced at Minami; the two of them met at a dance practice area.
Xie Mingmu actually wanted to practice martial arts, but his adoptive mother enrolled him in a dance class instead; perhaps she misheard him. When Xie Mingmu arrived at the dance studio, he initially intended to leave, but when Mingan got out of the car and entered the dance class, he changed his mind.
He had a lot of insights into this, all because of Mina, who walks with her toes slightly turned outwards. He saw her injured during practice and wanted to learn that gait to use to flirt with her later. Unfortunately, he never got to use it, and the two of them naturally got together.
"Whether to use cold or hot compresses depends on the situation. The underlying principles are quite complex, so I'll keep it brief: use cold compresses within 24 hours of injury and hot compresses after 48 hours."
After he finished speaking, the nine people looked at him with some admiration, especially the injured Hirai Momo, whose eyes were practically sparkling.
Fortunately, they didn't ask whether to use cold or hot compresses during the 24 to 48 hours, otherwise the half-baked Xie Mingmu would have been embarrassed.
"If that's the case, I'll go to the convenience store and get some ice." Xie Mingmu only saw a very fair-skinned girl run out.
After the agent finished the call, she noticed a man had appeared in their group. Looking around, she asked, "Does anyone know him? Who is he?"
Mina's eyes flickered: "This is my... a good friend I know."
"I'm the new cameraman's assistant," Xie Mingmu explained, then pressed Hirai Momo's wound with his hand, and Hirai Momo groaned repeatedly.
"Your leg was injured before, wasn't it?"
"Yes." Hirai Momo's voice sounded especially weak: "I had a muscle strain here before, but I didn't pay attention to it and it got better on its own. I thought it was nothing, although it still hurts a little sometimes."
Just as Xie Mingmu was about to give her some instructions, a bag of ice appeared in front of him.
"Is this enough?" Kim Da-hyun asked Xie Mingmu expectantly, her face still damp with sweat.
"That's enough." Xie Mingmu took the ice pack, wrapped it in a towel, and placed it on Hirai Momo's injured area.
"Didn't you say you wanted to use ice?" Lim Nayeon asked curiously. "If you wrap the ice pack in a towel, won't it stop feeling cold?"
"Too much of a good thing is bad. If it's too cold, the effect won't be very good," Xie Mingmu explained.
"Wow, is that an idiom? You're so cultured!"
Xie Mingmu was speechless. Did the people of the peninsula not even know this?
After applying ice, Hirai Momo stopped crying out in pain, and the swelling subsided slightly. Only then did the others breathe a sigh of relief; it seemed the injury wasn't too serious.
This is right when they need to promote "Cheer Up." If Hirai Momo doesn't show up for a long time, it will have a significant impact, and some outrageous rumors will circulate.
Mina bent down, took the towel, and asked Xie Mingmu, "How is Momo's injury?"
It was only then that Xie Mingmu learned that the somewhat clumsy girl's name was Momo. It sounded quite interesting—"Legs?" Xie Mingmu looked at Hirai Momo's legs; they were indeed quite nice, perfectly matching the name Momo.
Mina noticed Xie Mingmu's strange expression and gently patted his shoulder.
"It's a bit troublesome, but not too troublesome, because this is a recurrence of an old injury, and the sprain also twisted her tendon, so she needs to rest and can't do any strenuous exercise, otherwise she'll have to use a wheelchair in the future."
"what!"
The other girls and the agent exclaimed in unison.
