Chapter 24: Don't Expect Forgiveness
Chapter 24: Don't Expect Forgiveness
Back at the Lin residence, Lin Ruqin kept her head down and walked quickly.
"elder sister."
Lin Rusi sped up, passed Lin Ruqin, and blocked her path.
Lin Ruqin's body visibly trembled, her eyes widened, and Lin Rusi caught a glimpse of fear in her eyes.
Looking at her pale face, Lin Rusi felt somewhat helpless.
She shrugged, sighed, and said, "You're not really afraid of me, and besides, Prince Jinglie is gone, so you don't need to act anymore."
Lin Ruqin bit her lower lip, avoiding Lin Rusi's gaze, and mumbled an "Mmm".
"Sister, I know you still doubt my motives."
"However, I will prove with my actions that I am truly different from before."
Lin Rusi moved a few steps closer to Lin Ruqin, looking at her earnestly and seriously.
She took a step closer, then took a half step back.
Lin Rusi stopped where she was and did not move forward. Instead, she assured Lin Ruqin, "I will never do anything to bully my sister again."
Lin Ruqin glanced at her quickly out of the corner of her eye, her eyes filled with uncertainty.
No one will believe you if you just talk the talk but don't walk the walk.
It's understandable that Lin Ruqin didn't believe it.
Lin Rusi wasn't in a hurry to change her preconceived notions.
She will prove with her actions that she is truly different from before.
"Sister, it was wrong of me to bully you before."
"sorry."
"You don't need to doubt my intentions. I will prove that I really know I was wrong."
Lin Rusi looked at Lin Ruqin with a warm smile, "If I have done anything to offend you, sister, you can tell me directly, and I will correct it."
She bowed to Lin Ruqin again to apologize, her attitude very sincere.
Lin Ruqin thought Lin Rusi was going to hit her like before, and her body trembled involuntarily.
It turned out that Lin Rusi's brows furrowed only when she bowed.
"Ok."
She really couldn't figure out what Lin Rusi was thinking, so she could only pretend to agree.
Perhaps Lin Rusi apologized on purpose to lower her guard, and then came up with another way to target her.
"As long as you don't hit me or bully me, I will listen to you."
Lin Ruqin stiffened her neck in fear, then added, "I'll listen to whatever you say."
Lin Rusi sighed helplessly, unsure how to explain to Lin Ruqin that she was no longer the same as before.
However, she deserves this outcome.
She did too many things that wronged Lin Ruqin.
It would be problematic if Lin Ruqin could forgive her so easily.
Lin Rusi knew how serious the mistake she had made, so she didn't expect Lin Ruqin to forgive her.
She just wanted to make up for her as much as possible before she left.
"Can I leave now?"
Lin Ruqin scrutinized her, her eyes filled with caution.
Lin Rusi nodded, "If you need any help, you can come to me."
Lin Ruqin lowered her head, nodded slightly, then turned and quickly disappeared from Lin Rusi's sight.
After walking a distance, Lin Ruqin timidly turned back.
Lin Rusi was nowhere to be seen behind her, and the timidity in her eyes vanished in the blink of an eye.
Lin Ruqin stood tall and proud, her clear black and white eyes flashing with a fierce, cold light.
She strode into Warm Spring Pavilion, where Hongzhi greeted her, "Miss..."
Lin Ruqin glanced at her with a gaze as cold as ice, and Hongzhi's face tightened, and she immediately lowered her head.
"Close the door."
"Yes."
After closing the door tightly, Hongzhi lowered her head and quickly left.
Lin Ruqin stood in the room, her eyes slowly closing, her chest heaving violently.
"Lin Rusi, Lin Rusi!"
She opened her eyes again, her gaze burning with fierce anger.
"Why should I?!"
Lin Ruqin, enraged, grabbed the writing implements on the table and slammed them to the ground.
The loud bang startled Hongzhi, who was standing some distance away.
Lin Ruqin gasped for breath, her eyes gradually turning bloodshot.
She hates.
He wished he could tear Lin Rusi to pieces.
The person who bullied and tormented her back then was Lin Rusi, and now she thinks she can make up for her past mistakes with just an apology?
What Lin Ruqin found most unacceptable was that Lin Rusi had become engaged to Prince Jinglie by a twist of fate.
Just thinking about how considerate Prince Jinglie was to Lin Rusi made her heart feel as if it were being gripped by an invisible hand.
"Heh, you're getting married, so you're pretending to apologize to me?"
Do you think an apology and concern will make me forgive you?
Lin Ruqin hysterically threw everything she could see to the ground and roared, "Lin Rusi, you are so naive!"
"You used to enjoy taking things from me so much, now I'll let you taste what it's like to have things taken from you!"
"Forgive me? I'll never forgive you, not even in my next life! I'll make you pay a terrible price!"
Lin Ruqin stared at the fragments on the ground with a sinister look, as if she could see Lin Rusi in her eyes.
She took a deep breath to calm the turmoil in her heart, and then stomped hard on the shards of porcelain.
"Lin Rusi, I will repay you tenfold or a hundredfold for how you bullied me back then!"
"You've taken away my love, you've taken everything from me, haha, then I won't be polite to your husband."
"The one who should be Princess Jinglie is me, not you!"
Lin Ruqin's gaze became even more sinister.
At this moment, all she wanted was for Lin Rusi to suffer eternal damnation.
Given her own unhappiness, what right did she have to become a princess?
Evil people like Lin Rusi should be trampled underfoot and never be able to rise again!
"Red fat".
Hongzhi pushed open the door and took a deep breath upon seeing the mess everywhere.
Lin Ruqin regained her usual gentleness, "Clean up the things on the ground, and don't let anyone else know."
"Yes."
Hongzhi deftly cleaned up the broken pieces and took out a new set of porcelain, arranging them in their proper places.
In the blink of an eye, the empty room returned to normal, as if nothing had happened.
Hongzhi, having finished tidying up, came over and asked softly, "Miss, did the Second Miss bully you again?"
"No."
Lin Ruqin snorted coldly, "Who knows what kind of tricks she's up to now."
"By the way, keep an eye on Prince Jinglie's schedule."
She wanted to make King Jinglie fall in love with her quietly.
When Lin Rusi finds out, her expression will be quite amusing.
Hongzhi hesitated for a moment, "Miss, the marriage between Prince Jinglie and the Second Miss was arranged by the Prince himself."
"It might be inappropriate for Miss to go and see him so abruptly..."
Lin Ruqin's face darkened, and she glared at her. "Do as I say."
Hongzhi dared not say anything more and immediately went to do it.
Prince Jinglie was known among princes for his carefree and unconventional lifestyle, rarely spending time in his palace or royal residence.
He spends most of his time enjoying tea and drinks at various teahouses and restaurants, so finding him is a piece of cake.
"Is it you who want to see me?"
Lin Ruqin lifted her veil and peered at Prince Jinglie through the gap.
