Chapter 62 Oda is Jealous
Chapter 62 Oda is Jealous
When Lin Feng opened his eyes in the early morning, Li Yitong was still fast asleep on his chest, her long eyelashes fluttering gently with her breath.
He raised his hand to brush away the stray hairs from her forehead, but as soon as his fingertips touched her hair, her eyelashes fluttered and she opened her eyes groggily.
"Awake?" His voice was hoarse from just waking up.
Li Yitong propped herself up, her gaze sweeping across the floor. The blue and white school uniform was torn to shreds, the scattered fabric resembling crumpled pieces of paper.
"Look at you," she glared at him reproachfully, "How can you treat clothes like this? This is Li Shiqing's school uniform; so many people want to collect it."
"Collecting is nothing compared to seeing her wear it in person." Lin Feng chuckled and pinched her cheek. "Get up quickly, or Xiao Tian will be knocking on the door."
Li Yitong panicked, grabbed his shirt draped over the back of the chair and put it on, the hem barely covering her thighs. "I'm leaving now."
She tiptoed and gave him a quick peck on the corner of his lips, then opened the door, peeked into the hallway, and slipped back into her room like a cat.
Lin Feng smiled as he watched her retreating figure, then got up to clean up the mess on the floor. The fabric of her school uniform still held her warmth; he folded it neatly and put it in his bag, thinking he could mend it when he got back, and maybe it would come in handy.
At 11 a.m., the four of them finally gathered at a restaurant downstairs from the hotel for lunch. Not long after they sat down, a fan recognized them and timidly came over to ask if they could take a photo together.
"Sure." Lin Feng stood up with a smile, and the female fan immediately blushed and leaned over, her arm almost touching his arm. When taking pictures, she deliberately leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Thank you, Director Lin!" As the fans ran away with their phones, Tian Xiwei puffed out her cheeks and glared at them.
Then several more fans surrounded her, most of them fans of the drama "The Beginning" who wanted to take photos with Li Yitong. They held her hand and said, "Li Shiqing is so brave."
Those who sought out Tian Xiwei praised her, saying she was "cute when she dances" and "I cry every time I watch her crying scenes in the movie." Even though Liu Haochun was missing Zhu, some fans quietly said, "I like the best friend you played."
When it was a girl in a Lolita dress's turn to take a photo with Raymond Lam, she simply linked her arm with his and nuzzled her head against his chest, saying, "Director Lam, I never knew you were not only talented but also so handsome!"
Tian Xi clicked her tongue and was about to speak when Li Yitong quietly pressed her hand down. She turned to look at Li Yitong, who shook her head at her.
Liu Haochun was eating with her head down when she caught a glimpse of Lin Feng subtly turning away from the girl, and she felt a sense of relief.
After the fans dispersed, Tian Xiwei finally couldn't hold back anymore: "Brother Feng! Those girls went too far! They practically wanted to stick to you!"
"Fans are all the same, it's normal for them to be enthusiastic." Raymond Lam took a sip of tea, his tone indifferent. "It's just a photo, nothing special."
"What do you mean 'nothing'?" Tian Xiwei protested, "That girl in the skirt just now almost touched your waist!"
"What do you know, you're just a kid." Lin Feng tapped her head. "Go eat, then go back to the hotel to pack your things. We're going to your house this afternoon."
Mentioning going home calmed Tian Xiwei down considerably, but she still muttered, "Anyway, it just won't work..."
On the way back to the hotel, Tian Xiwei was still muttering to herself, which amused Liu Haochun: "You're so worried about Brother Feng!"
"I just couldn't stand their lack of manners!" Tian Xi said, her neck slightly stiff. "Brother Feng is a director, not an idol. How can he take advantage of us like that?"
Li Yitong laughed and said, "Alright, stop being angry. Haochun and I are going back to Beijing later, and you can go home with Brother Feng to keep an eye on him."
"That's true." Tian Xiwei immediately beamed. "Once I sign with the company, I'll be his 'employee.' Let's see if he still dares to let fans get that close then!"
"Sister Yitong, let's go." Liu Haochun stood at the door with his backpack on, a hint of reluctance on his face. "I'll send you a message when we get to Beijing."
"Be careful on the road." Li Yitong hugged her. "Go back and get some rest, don't overwork yourself."
As Tian Xi saw Li Yitong and Liu Haochun into the taxi, she waved and called out, "Sister Yitong! Haochun! See you in Beijing!"
After the car drove away, Tian Xiwei suddenly asked, "Brother Feng, do you think my parents will like the local specialties from Chengdu?"
"Definitely," Lin Feng ruffled her hair. "When have they ever complained about the things you bring?"
At four o'clock in the afternoon, Lin Feng and Tian Xiwei's car drove into the old street of Tongliang, a mountain city. Tian's parents were already waiting at the door.
"Uncle! Auntie!" Lin Feng called out as soon as he got out of the car, stuffing the local specialties he was carrying into Tian's arms. "Try some rabbit heads and beef jerky from Chengdu."
"You're back, why bring so much stuff?" Tian's mother held Tian Xiwei's hand, her eyes crinkling into crescents with laughter. "You've lost some weight, were you too tired from the roadshow?"
"I'm not tired!" Tian Xiwei hugged her mother's arm and said coquettishly, "I ate a lot of delicious food, I just got a little tanned."
Once inside, Tian's mother busied herself in the kitchen boiling water, while Tian's father pulled Lin Feng aside and said, "I watched the movie online, Lin Feng is amazing!"
"We were lucky," Raymond Lam said with a smile and a wave of his hand. "Mainly because Xiao Tian acted so well."
"This girl has been wild since she was little. It's her good fortune that you brought her out into the world." Mr. Tian lit a cigarette. "Regarding the contract you mentioned, her mother and I have discussed it and have no objections, except..."
"Uncle, please speak."
"The terms you're offering are too good," Mr. Tian frowned. "A seven-year contract, with the profit sharing increasing every year. That's rare in this industry, isn't it?"
"Xiaotian is worth the price," Lin Feng said earnestly. "She has talent; with proper nurturing, she'll definitely amount to something great in the future."
Tian Xiwei came out of the kitchen carrying fruit. Hearing this, her face turned red: "Brother Feng, don't praise me too much, I'll get arrogant."
"You're already excellent." Lin Feng flicked her forehead. "Go and lend your mom a hand."
At the dinner table, Tian's mother had prepared a table full of dishes, all of which were Tian Xiwei's favorites. Tian Xiwei chattered excitedly about the fun things that happened during the roadshow, mentioning that fans in Chengdu had given her a rabbit doll.
"Yitong is a good girl," Tian's mother said, placing a piece of pork rib on Li Yitong's plate (even though she wasn't there). "She seems very composed."
"Haochun is pretty good too," Tian Xiwei said, "but he's too quiet, and I always bully him."
Lin Feng laughed and said, "You have the nerve to say that? Last time you snatched Hao Chun's snacks at the hotel, and he didn't even hold it against you."
The family chatted and laughed. Looking at Lin Feng, the father suddenly remembered how the boy used to take his daughter climbing trees to steal birds' nests when he was little, and how he used to chase and beat him. He couldn't help but sigh, "Time flies. You've become a great director."
"Uncle, I'm still the same Lin Feng." Lin Feng raised his glass. "From now on, I'll take care of Xiao Tian. Don't worry."
"Don't worry, don't worry." Father Tian took a sip of wine, his eyes a little red. "With you here, we can rest assured about everything."
After dinner, Mrs. Tian went to clear the dishes, and Mr. Tian pulled Lin Feng into the inner room. Tian Xiwei followed and sat on a small stool nearby. Lin Feng took out a contract from his bag and handed it to Mr. Tian: "Uncle, take a look, this is the contract, the terms are all written very clearly."
