Chapter 429 My Husband Still Has Energy
Chapter 429 My Husband Still Has Energy
Fang Li was taken aback when the man's lips landed on hers.
Her eyes widened in surprise, and she realized that the man had misunderstood.
She turned her head away and pushed him away forcefully: "I'm really hungry!"
"I didn't expect Mrs. Han to have such a big appetite; it's been so long and I still can't satisfy you."
Han Xi deliberately raised an eyebrow, lowered his head, and lightly touched her lips: "Don't worry, your husband still has energy, and will definitely satisfy you."
Feeling the man roll over and press down on her, Fang Li gritted her teeth in anger: "Han Xi!"
"..." He chuckled softly.
Seeing the man shrug and chuckle, Fang Li belatedly realized, "You did this on purpose?!"
"good."
Han Xi raised his hand and tucked the hair behind her ear, then leaned down and gently kissed her lips: "What do you want to eat? I'll make it."
Seeing Han Xi get up and casually grab his pajama pants to put on, Fang Li's complexion finally returned to normal.
She sat up, still wrapped in the blanket, and Han Xi bent down to pick up his shirt from the floor and handed it to her: "Put this on, it's chilly at night."
The shirt fabric still retained Han Xi's body heat and a faint pine scent, which Fang Li then wrapped around herself.
Han Xi went to the dressing room, grabbed a T-shirt, put it on, and then went to the kitchen.
Fang Li sat on the bed for a while to calm down before buttoning her clothes, getting out of bed, and walking barefoot out of the bedroom with trembling legs. The slightly cool touch of the wooden floor made her toes curl up slightly.
Han Xi is checking the refrigerator.
Although the two of them don't come back often, someone comes regularly to clean and replenish the refrigerator.
The warm yellow light from the refrigerator illuminated Han Xi's face, and from Fang Li's angle, his profile was exceptionally well-defined.
"It's too late, how about noodles?" he asked without turning his head, already taking out two eggs and a few tomatoes.
Xu Fangli clutched her stomach, curled up in a restaurant chair: "Anything is fine, you decide."
Han Xi pulled a dark blue apron from the drawer and tied it, the strap knotting at his lean waist: "Hang in there a little longer, I'll be there soon."
He expertly turned on the stove and poured in the oil. "You didn't eat enough tonight."
"It's not just because we eat less."
Xu Fangli leaned against the back of the chair, swinging her bare legs as she watched him work.
Hearing the resentment in the woman's words, Han Xi's lips curled up, and his hands moved even more swiftly.
His movements as he chopped tomatoes were swift and precise, the blade striking the cutting board with a crisp rhythm.
As the oil sizzled in the pan, he glanced back at her, his gaze lingering on her bare thighs for a few seconds.
Don't look at me like that.
Xu Fangli squeezed her legs together, her face flushing slightly. "Look at your pot."
Han Xi curled the corners of his lips, deliberately making the sizzling of the eggs in the pan louder: "Don't worry, even if I see you..." He paused meaningfully, "it won't affect my performance."
The heat quickly filled the kitchen, mingling with the sweet and sour aroma of tomatoes and the fragrance of fried eggs.
Xu Fangli watched Han Xi's back. The apron straps outlined his straight shoulders, and as he stirred the food, his shoulder blades were faintly visible under the fabric.
Even after all this time, she is still easily bewitched by this man.
Imagine a man who is feared in the business world, and at this moment he is cooking her a very ordinary late-night snack. It would be impossible for any woman not to feel vain.
The range hood stopped making noise in less than ten minutes.
"alright."
Han Xi placed the noodles into a blue and white porcelain bowl, sprinkled some chopped green onions on top, and drizzled a few drops of sesame oil on top.
Instead of using chopsticks, he took a silver spoon and walked up to Xu Fangli.
"Try it." He scooped up a spoonful, blew on it, and then brought it to her lips.
The noodles were chewy, the tomatoes were perfectly balanced between sweet and sour, and the egg drop soup was as soft as a cloud.
Xu Fangli squinted her eyes in satisfaction, her tongue inadvertently brushing against the rim of the spoon.
Han Xi's eyes darkened, but he continued to feed her spoonful by spoonful, occasionally wiping the soup from the corner of her mouth with his thumb.
"How does it taste?" Han Xi suddenly asked, his gaze fixed intently on her face.
Xu Fangli chewed with satisfaction, her eyes slightly narrowed: "Very good, President Han's cooking skills are still something to be proud of."
Is cooking skill the only thing to be confident about?
Fang Li paused slightly, then opened her eyes to look at him.
Han Xi put down his spoon and suddenly placed his hand on her lower abdomen. "Do you think there might already be a little life inside?"
Fang Li paused for a moment, her body involuntarily tensing up.
Two weeks have passed since she lied about being pregnant, and they really are... trying very hard to "carry on" the lie.
"No...it can't be that fast, can it?"
She stammered her reply, feeling the warmth from his palm.
Han Xi chuckled, placed the bowl on the table, and braced himself against the armrests on either side of her, trapping her between his arms: "Don't you believe in my abilities?"
His nose brushed against hers. "Looks like I haven't tried hard enough."
Xu Fangli grabbed his apron strap: "What are you saying? You've already tried your best!"
Only after he finished speaking did he realize what he had said, and his ears instantly burned.
Han Xi kissed her burning earlobe with pleasure, then turned and took a jar of honey and lemons from the cupboard: "Eat up, and drink some honey water before you go to sleep, otherwise your throat will be sore tomorrow."
Xu Fangli lowered her head and ate her noodles. In no time, she finished the bowl. Han Xi also came over with a cup.
She took the glass and touched his fingertips to it.
Then it suddenly dawned on her that she seemed to have eaten the whole bowl of noodles and hadn't left any for Han Xi.
"I'm finished eating?"
Han Xi smiled and said, "It's okay, I'm not hungry."
Fang Li gave an "oh" and sipped the sweet liquid while watching Han Xi skillfully tidy up the kitchen utensils.
The way he washed the dishes was as if he were performing some kind of precise work; every movement was imbued with his unique precision and elegance.
"If you don't become the president of Han's Group in the future, opening a restaurant would definitely be a good business," she couldn't help but say.
Han Xi closed the cabinet and turned to look at her: "You're talking about Tan Palace."
Yes.
Fang Li suddenly realized that the Tan Palace belonged to him.
Han Xi approached, placing his hands on either side of her knees. "I'm afraid I won't be opening the restaurant anymore. I'll only cook for one person in my life."
Moonlight streamed in through the French windows, casting a silvery glow on his silhouette.
For the first time in so many years, Xu Fangli felt intoxicated by someone's feelings, just like this night, like a stolen candy, so sweet it was unreal.
During the day they were still troubled by many things, but at this moment, in this quiet restaurant, they were just two ordinary people in love.
"Tired?"
Han Xi took the empty cup from her and drank the remaining honey water in one gulp from the spot where she had drunk from.
Xu Fangli shook her head, but couldn't help yawning.
Han Xi chuckled, took off his apron and hung it up, then picked her up from the table.
Xu Fangli instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, and the hem of her shirt rolled up as a result, revealing more skin.
"Han Xi," she whispered, leaning on his shoulder, "you think... she might really be pregnant?"
Han Xi paused for a moment, then continued walking towards the bedroom: "Isn't that perfect?"
