Chapter 188: We Can Arm Anyone To The Teeth, Including Our Pigs!
After that short discussion, Leone led the Orcs deeper into the mountain.
Before they went, Vlad had been asked to stay behind, because he still wasn’t allowed to know the core secrets of the Aslan Tribe.
Although they were disappointed, they understood that some things weren’t privy to them since they weren’t allies. Vlad gave Leone a glance, as if he was an abandoned puppy.
But, the young chieftain knew that it was still too early for Vlad to know some of the core secrets of his tribe.
"You sure walk boldly, human," Rasta said. "You guide us here on your own without bringing any of your guards. Our Champion has told us about the magical contract you have forced upon him. However, Khan and I are not obligated to follow it. What will you do if we use you as a hostage to force the termination of the contract?"
Khan thought of the same thing. Ever since the four of them traveled together, they hadn’t seen a single guard along the way.
It was as if the young man was inviting them to attack him. Such boldness, or rather, such stupidity was something that baffled the Orc Warlord.
Meanwhile, Logan didn’t do or say anything to his retainers. He simply followed behind Leone, wondering how Rasta and Khan would act in this situation.
"What you say is true," Leone replied without even turning around to look at the Orc Shaman. "The only reason why I’m doing this is because, as the Great Chieftain of the Aslan Tribe, I wish to show you guys my sincerity.
"You might think of it as stupidity or just the foolishness of someone so young as me. Though, whether you take advantage of this moment or not will determine how I will deal with your tribe in the future."
"So you’re testing us, huh?" Khan asked in disdain. "You play some dangerous games, human."
"Perhaps," Leone answered. "But, just as I’ve said earlier, the choice will always be yours."
Of course, Leone had a plan. He would not be stupid enough to walk beside three powerful Orcs without any insurance.
No matter how fast Rasta and Khan moved, Daedalus would always be faster.
When Leone’s territory was upgraded to Rank 2, it gave him the skill Territory Teleportation [EX].
This allowed him to teleport himself and other people to where his territory flag was planted.
This meant that the moment the Orcs made any move to capture him, Daedalus would teleport Leone to the entrance of the cave that led inside Grimjaw Mountain.
It would then activate all the traps inside the underground tunnels, either capturing or killing Rasta and Khan without showing any mercy.
Like Khan said earlier, he was testing them.
He didn’t lie when he said that depending on their actions, his treatment of the Ravage Tribe could change.
Perhaps sensing that something was amiss, Rasta and Khan no longer thought of making any attempt to subjugate the young man before them.
"We have arrived," Leone said as they approached the end of the underground tunnel.
When Logan, Rasta, and Khan saw what was on the other side, they couldn’t help but look in shock.
A small city was built deep inside the mountain.
This was where the Bloodtusk Tribe and the Stormhorn Tribe were currently staying.
Boris had also helped in creating this space by using its massive body and tail to ram the walls of the cavern, destroying large chunks of rocks in the process.
Daedalus had already designated this place as a collection point, so all the rocks that were destroyed were immediately stored within its pages.
As long as enough space was made and enough materials were gathered, building an underground city was as easy as Leone lifting a finger.
There was also a luminous crystal the size of a car floating above the city, illuminating its surroundings.
This was one of Daedalus’ special abilities that had been unlocked when Leone’s Territory Rank had been upgraded.
Unfortunately, the Grimoire could only make one "artificial sun" every time Leone’s Territory Rank was upgraded.
Rasta and Khan gazed at the giant Raptor busy lashing its tail out against the wall, demolishing it through pure brute strength.
Daedalus was already secretly rubbing its pages in anticipation. After all, if Logan and Khan joined the demolition work, wouldn’t the underground city swiftly expand in just a few days?
The Orc Champion and the Orc Warlord had insane strength stats. Having these two Orcs was equivalent to gaining two wrecking balls for free!
Of course, this was not just a buy one, get one free package.
If anything, it was a buy one, get all the Orcs package!
With Logan and Khan leading the charge, the other Orcs would serve as jackhammers that would speed things up even further!
"There are two more places we need to visit," Leone said before taking the three Orcs, who had finally regained their composure, to another section of the underground tunnels.
This time, they arrived at the area where the miners found the iron ore deposit.
The Darkmane Tribe warriors, who were busy digging through the tunnels, looked at Leone and the three Orcs in surprise.
This was the first time Leone had shown himself in front of them ever since they had gone to the underground tunnels.
However, after seeing the three powerful Orcs behind them, all thoughts of attacking the young man disappeared instantly.
"We have found an iron deposit here and are in the process of mass producing weapons and armors," Leone stated. "If the Ravage Tribe joins us in defending the fortress, we will equip all the Orcs with a complete set of weapons and armor.
"Not only that, but we will also handle repairs and replacements if they get damaged or broken. If the Orcs wish to have tools or any other kinds of weapons, the Aslan Tribe will also provide them without fail."
After hearing his words, Logan, Rasta, and Khan turned solemn.
"I will give you an example of what the armors I am talking about look like," Leone added. "Come, Fury!"
Daedalus had summoned Ulric’s familiar, who had already been briefed about today’s agenda.
The Dire Bear soon appeared in front of Leone, decked in heavy armor with spikes all over its body.
It truly looked like a beast of war. Even Logan and Khan looked truly impressed by how intimidating it looked.
"You have already seen our Raptors outside, right?" Leone said calmly. "They are only wearing light armor for now. However, depending on the situation, they can also serve as heavy cavalry if needed. Heck, even our pigs can wear armor as well if we want to."
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Khan asked. "Since when did pigs wear armor?"
As if waiting for that moment, they heard a squeal from behind them.
Logan, Khan, and Rasta turned around and saw Porkchop, decked in full body armor while looking arrogantly at the three Orcs.
The Orcs of the Borderlands didn’t look like pigs. Instead, they looked like savage humanoids with muscular bodies and bestial features.
If they looked like pigs, then Porkchop would have already spat at them, telling them that they were an insult to pigs!
"See?" Leone chuckled. "We can arm anyone to the teeth, including our pigs! We have that much leeway in our resources."
The young man then approached the Great Pudge before mounting the saddle behind its back.
Khan was genuinely impressed with Porkchop’s arrogant gaze, while Rasta only found it amusing.
"There is one last place I need to show you," Leone said. "Follow me."
Since Porkchop knew the underground tunnels by heart, Leone asked it to lead the way to the Hidden Valley.
This was another bastion of the Aslan Tribe in case of an emergency.
It was a place big enough for everyone, including the Orcs, to live in peace even if disaster struck the Borderlands.
This was one of their insurances just in case the fortress and the underground city had been breached.
When Logan, Rasta, and Khan saw that a town was already built in the Hidden Valley, they couldn’t help but look at the Aslan Tribe in a different light.
Everything they saw had surpassed their expectations.
And this time, the three high-ranking Orcs seemed to have become more invested in helping them protect this place for the mutual benefit of both tribes.
