Chapter 77, Part 2: Shuanzi Offline

Chapter 77, Part 2: Shuanzi Offline

"Er Shuanzi, what are you doing!" Lin Feng caught up. He had heard the whistle before he even got here. Now, that young lady was probably in grave danger.

"What am I doing?" Li Ershuan grabbed a handful of still-warm dirt and threw it at him, his face fierce. "You fucking know, don't you? You're going to kill me!"

Ever since the higher-ups suspected that Helian Yue had faked his death, they ordered them to keep a close watch on him and absolutely not allow anyone from the Duke of Zhenguo's mansion to pull any tricks under their noses, or they would be punished.

If someone runs away and the higher-ups come to question him, how will he explain himself? He could lose his head over it!

Li Ershuan squinted. So that little thing had been pretending to be dead with her eyes closed all these past few days! He should have strangled her when he saw her half-dead state!

And this Lin Feng, he was so close just now holding a torch, he must have realized that he was helping the Duke of Zhenguo's mansion!

Growing angrier by the thought, he picked up a large knife and slashed at Lin Feng, yelling, "Die! I'll use you, you traitor, to make amends!"

Lin Feng frowned and blocked his knife. He didn't expect that this usually foolish Ershuanzi would suddenly become so smart. Now things were really going to be difficult.

Li Ershuan wielded his sword with all his might, each strike aimed straight for vital points. Lin Feng finally stopped holding back and confronted him with a stern look.

Now that things have come to this, Li Ershuan absolutely cannot be allowed to live. He must get rid of him quickly while no one is around.

These two are no good people. They've committed murder and robbery behind people's backs many times. It's no wonder they died.

The two fought and strayed further and further from the group. When they reached the edge of a low cliff, Li Ershuan chased him to the side until he had nowhere left to retreat.

"Heh, how's my swordsmanship? Isn't it much better than yours!" His face was filled with dissatisfaction and hatred, as if he wanted to tear Lin Feng apart and devour him.

Lin Feng wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, a mocking look on his face. "So what? You're still my defeated opponent."

Li Ershuan was furious. He couldn't stand Lin Feng looking down on him. Lin Feng had looked down on him when they first started working together, and now that they were about to die, he was still the same.

He had thought that if the man knew what was good for him, he might be spared a proper burial, but now it seemed unnecessary.

Today, Li Ershuan will be beheaded!

He roared, raised his knife, and charged forward, but when he was a step away from Lin Feng, his eyes suddenly widened...

Helian Yue was clearly struggling to keep up with the waves of assassination attempts while holding Helian Zhiyan in his arms. Helian Zhiyan clung tightly to his neck without making a sound, her small body trembling.

"Heh heh, I never imagined that the mighty War God, Young General Helian, would die by my hand tonight!"

A man in black with a hoarse voice wiped the blood from his longsword, the bloodstains left when Helian Yue was caught off guard and slashed during the sneak attack.

If he really killed Helian Yue today, then someone would remember him as a small fry, and all the hardships he had endured in training would not have been in vain.

Helian Yue's eyes were devoid of warmth, his bloodshot eyes sweeping over the group of people around him who were ready to rush at any moment.

"Xiao Yan, don't open your eyes, cover your ears," he said softly to Helian Zhiyan in his arms.

Helian Zhiyan closed her eyes and nodded, obediently raising her little hands to cover her ears.

"Ha, what can mere ants do to me?"

He was able to break through the encirclement and take the head of the enemy general back then, and today he can also wipe out all the men sent by Jun Shuyan!

The men in black exchanged glances, then raised their long swords and charged at Helian Yue.

Helian Qiaosong kept looking back at the back of the column, but neither of the two soldiers who went back returned. He had a vague sense of unease.

Finally, just as one of the escorting soldiers was about to go looking for them, Lin Feng returned.

"Boss, you're finally back! Where's Ershuanzi?"

The man raised his torch and looked behind him. Not seeing Li Shuanzi who had gone back first, he asked.

Lin Feng whispered a few words in his ear, and the man's eyes showed envy. Then the two walked ahead and continued on their way.

As he passed by Helian Qiaosong, he stopped and gave him a deep look, his heart filled with complex emotions.

He didn't know if the child they were risking their lives to send away would survive, and he couldn't see the person's figure very clearly, but he hoped it was the young general.

Lan Cai nervously grabbed Helian Qiaosong's wrist, and after he walked away, she couldn't help but whisper, "Husband, could it be that he discovered something?"

Why didn't the tall, thin guy who had been bullying them all the way come back? Did Yan'er meet with some misfortune?

"It's alright, Madam. We must trust Yue'er," Helian Qiaosong whispered to comfort Lan Cai.

Actually, he was quite panicked inside, feeling that the easygoing leader already knew something. As for the tall, thin guy, hadn't he just spoken to someone else about it? He figured it shouldn't be anything serious.

By now, Yue'er should have brought Yan'er to a safe place, right?

Helian Yue finally found a cave to rest, but he was almost exhausted and the wound on his back was still bleeding.

It seems Jun Shuyan has really gone all out this time; these people are indeed quite difficult to kill today.

"Brother, you're bleeding!" Helian Zhiyan's face was pale. She pouted and gently blew on his injured arm. "Whew, it won't hurt anymore."

Helian Yue patted her head and spoke to her softly.

Soon the little one in my arms gradually quieted down, but her breathing became heavy and rapid, unlike normal breathing.

His icy hand covered her forehead, and he felt his palm burning hot. He touched her face, and it was also burning hot.

Helian Yue punched the ground in self-reproach. Where was he supposed to find a doctor in this desolate area?

He gently placed her on the ground, went to find some water, tore off a piece of his own clothing, soaked it, and placed it on her forehead.

Fearing he would attract attention, he didn't light the fire. Instead of calming down, Helian Zhiyan's fever started to subside, and he even began to talk nonsense.

Having no other choice, Helian Yue wrapped her up and tied her to his arms before continuing on his journey.

He didn't know how long he had run, he only felt that his blood was about to drain away before he saw a house with a light on.

With his last bit of strength, he climbed over the courtyard wall, stumbled toward the light, and then collapsed at the doorway.

Wen Luozhi, who was drawing a diagram of a wheelchair inside the room, paused when she heard the sound.

The little wolf had already rushed out of the house and was wagging its tail at her as she came out, saying, "Girl, this person has such a strong aura of menace."

Wen Luozhi was already quite agitated when she opened the door and saw someone lying on the doorway, but hearing it talking about killing made her even more distraught.

As she was wondering what to do, the little wolf said, "Don't worry, it's righteousness!"

It wagged its tail happily and circled around Helian Yue, saying, "Hey, he has something in his arms."

The little wolf reached out to pry open the clothes covering Helian's youthful face, but Helian suddenly opened his eyes and, seeing that the person in front of him was not sent by Jun Shuyan, closed his eyes again out of exhaustion.

The little wolf howled in fright. Wen Luozhi saw that the bloodied figure on the ground was motionless, so she kicked it and asked, "Dead?"
