Chapter 158 Release
Chapter 158 Release
Mo Ming stood at the warehouse entrance, looking coldly at Hawkes and Lopez who were tied up.
His voice was calm yet carried an irresistible authority: "Stone, Manmeng, untie those two ropes and throw them out of the shelter's territory."
After saying that, he turned around and left.
However, Hawkes suddenly called out to him, "Wait, you're not going to kill us?"
Mo Ming stopped, but didn't turn around. He just snorted coldly, his tone laced with mockery, "Hmph... if you have such a request, I wouldn't mind granting it to you!"
Then, he left the warehouse without looking back.
Hawkes and Lopez exchanged bewildered glances, completely baffled by Mo Ming's intentions.
Previously, they had been thinking about how to escape this place, but they never expected that Mo Ming would let them go on his own initiative.
Having been trapped for so long, they had long since gained a deep understanding of Mo Ming's ruthlessness and rationality. The fact that such a person suddenly let them go made them feel uneasy.
After Mo Ming left, Shi Tou and Man Meng didn't waste any words. They simply picked up the two men and carried them out of the shelter.
Accompanied by Xiong Er, they led Hawkes and Luo Pei to the lakeside and ruthlessly threw them to the ground. Hawkes and Luo Pei were badly hurt and scrambled to their feet, looking back at the departing figures of Shi Tou and the others, their hearts filled with doubt.
Meanwhile, inside the shelter, Mo Ming stood beside Duo Duo and asked in a low voice, "Duo Duo, will the tracking powder you made not work?"
Duoduo raised her head and said confidently, "Don't worry, brother, I added pollen from Huahua's head to the powder. It will stay on them for three days. Even if they jump into the lake to bathe, they won't be able to wash it off!"
Hearing Duoduo's answer, Mo Ming nodded, feeling slightly relieved. "That's good. The rest is up to Mengling and Xiaojin."
Duoduo smiled and looked at Mo Ming expectantly, "Brother, just wait for the good news! It definitely won't disappoint you."
At that moment, Hawkes and Lopez sat on the ground by the lake, their expressions complicated. Hawkes looked up at the sky, his eyes full of doubt. "Hey, you sissy, why do you think he let us go?"
Lope covered her mouth, her expression making Hawkes frown. "How would they know? Humans are too cunning."
Hawkes frowned, pondered for a moment, and then said, "Do you think he might be trying to find our tribe through us?"
That doesn't make sense! Didn't he already know our tribe was beneath the great lake?
Upon hearing this, Luo Pei's eyes showed a hint of confusion. He covered his mouth, striking a thoughtful pose, even displaying an exaggerated expression, "Wow! This is so mind-bending!"
Hawkes couldn't help but vomit when he saw Luo Pei's appearance. "Ugh! Can you please stop being so disgusting!"
Luo Pei pouted and said in a coquettish tone, "Ugh! Why don't we go back to the tribe first and find the chief to avenge us!"
Hawkes nodded. "That's the only way! But we need to be careful not to get followed."
After a brief discussion, the two carefully moved along the edge of the lake.
They moved with extreme caution, constantly looking back and even circling the lake several times to try and confirm if anyone was following them. However, they were unaware that two sharp eyes were watching their every move intently from the shadows.
Hawkes and Lopez cautiously made their way deeper into the lake. To avoid being discovered, they even circled the lake several times, trying to confuse any potential pursuers.
However, no matter how they took detours, Mengling and Xiaojin always kept a proper distance, one in the air and one in the water, silently following behind them.
"Hey, you sissy, do you think the boss will blame us when we get back?" Hawkes asked in a low voice.
"How would they know! But the boss will definitely avenge us!" Luo Pei said, glancing back to make sure no one was following them before continuing on his way.
Hawkes nodded. "Yes, then let's hurry back and not waste any more time."
Confined to the warehouse, they were completely cut off from news. They were unaware that their tribe had been destroyed, along with all their squads, and even the crimson-level leopard... had not escaped.
Hawkes and Lopez walked toward the bottom of the lake, full of doubts, but before they even got close to the entrance, an ominous premonition came over them.
In the past, whenever we approached the tribe, we should have been able to see our fellow tribesmen in the distance, but today, all we saw was deathly silence.
Hawkes frowned and ran to the entrance of the tribe first, only to find that the place where there should have been a sentry post was now completely filled with lake water, and there wasn't a single person in sight.
“Sissy, why is it so quiet here?” Hawkes lowered his voice, his tone revealing obvious nervousness.
Luo Pei quickly caught up, her eyes filled with unease: "Something's not right here. There are always guards patrolling around. How come there's no one here?"
The two became more cautious and slowly approached the entrance. But what they saw next made their hearts sink – the once well-equipped tribal gate was wide open for some reason, and the lake water poured into the tribe without any obstruction.
Hawkes' pupils contracted slightly, his astonishment undisguised: "Has this place been attacked? How did all the water... flood into the tribe?"
Luo Pei was also stunned by the scene before him. He clenched his fists, his voice trembling slightly: "Oh no, is something wrong with the boss? Who can break in? Quick, go in and check!"
Without further hesitation, the two quickly swam through the entrance, which was already submerged by the lake, into the interior of the tribe. However, what they saw next left them completely stunned—corpses were floating everywhere in the tribe.
Those familiar figures have all lost their lives. Some faces are vivid and clear, while others are slashed to pieces by sharp weapons, their eyes still seeming to hold the fear and despair of their deaths.
Besides their own compatriots, there were also many corpses of monkey-faced people whom they deeply hated.
What should have been their base camp is now surrounded by lake water, with various debris and supplies floating around, and some places are even stained with bright red blood.
The warehouses that were usually used to store weapons and supplies had long since been reduced to ruins. The destruction caused by the lake was clearly a massive looting, leaving the area lifeless.
Hawkes gripped Lope's arm tightly, his throat bobbing, and after a long pause, he managed to squeeze out a sentence from his shock: "What...what happened? Those wild monkeys broke in?"
Lope's lips trembled, clearly terrified, and he said in a hoarse voice, "Our tribe... is it all over? This is impossible! Even if Vista came, he couldn't have slaughtered us all. Our leader is one of the strongest chiefs!"
The two looked at each other and saw the unease and helplessness in each other's eyes.
Could it be that the lake flooded due to the fierce battle between the two sides?
That's impossible. We're so deep underwater. Even if the leaders of both sides were to make a move, they might not be able to do it.
No matter how he pondered it, he simply couldn't explain the scene before him that resembled a living hell.
Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he stared blankly at Luo Pei.
