Chapter 115 Abu is our only hope
Chapter 115 Abu is our only hope
Before Kaimen Rich could even speak, the ten white dragon orcs behind him shoved him aside and glared at Bowen with vicious expressions, as if they had some deep-seated grudge against each other.
Indeed, there is a deep-seated hatred between them.
It's hard to imagine what happened between these 11 white dragon beastmen that caused their once close brotherhood to turn into this.
"Stop talking nonsense, you bastard! What have you done to us since the teacher disappeared? We're in jail because of you!" Manchui glared at Bowen with a fierce look. He wished he could jump over and grab his favorite 100-kilogram sledgehammer to smash Bowen's head.
However, they were stopped by several other, more rational white dragons.
Seeing this situation, Bowen did not panic. He put on a new mask and said in a very sincere tone, "Brothers, I did nothing. If it weren't for me, would our White Dragon Clan still have any hope? Didn't I also pay the price of my life for the entire race?" Although he appeared sincere, Bowen's heart was actually very dark at this moment.
"Bullshit! You think faking your death is something to be celebrated? Yeah, yeah, now the White Dragon Clan thinks you're a hero and we're scum! You little brat, you're a complete ingrate! How can you face your teacher like this?"
"Haha, brother, I'm not an ungrateful wretch. Besides, I've always been true to my most respected teacher. Isn't everything I've done for him?"
"Enough!" The priest, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke, his cloudy eyes fixed on Bowen. "Now that things have come to this, do you still want to argue?"
"Solve your grievances? Why would I need to swear?" Bowen chuckled, his tone full of disdain. "Everything I've done is for the future of the White Dragon Clan. You short-sighted fools simply cannot comprehend my grand plan!"
"A grand plan? You mean locking us all in that dark, sunless cell?" Qiming, usually the most rational of them all, finally couldn't help but speak up. His bloodshot eyes burned with raging fury. He had always believed that his partner was the best and most trustworthy person, but now he just wanted to rush up and tear Bowen in front of him to shreds.
“That was just a necessary sacrifice,” Bowen said nonchalantly. “For the greater good, sacrificing a few people is inevitable.”
"Sacrifice? What do you take us for? Pawns to be discarded at will?" Qiming demanded angrily, his handsome face filled with disappointment. "We were once brothers, comrades-in-arms, and companions! Why did you do this?"
"Brothers? Comrades-in-arms? Companions?" Bo Wen laughed as if he had heard a funny joke. "Don't be naive. In this dog-eat-dog world, only strength is eternal! You are too weak, too weak to understand my ideals!"
"Your ideal? Is your ideal to build a world ruled by you, a world filled with killing and enslavement?" The holy voice was filled with sorrow. "You are no longer the learned man we knew; you have become a devil!"
"A devil? Hahaha, perhaps." Bowen's smile vanished, his eyes turning icy. "But only a devil can save this corrupt world! Only a devil can lead the White Dragon Clan to true glory!"
"You're insane!" Gale roared. "You're completely insane!"
"You're the ones who're crazy!" Bowen's voice suddenly rose, and a powerful aura emanated from him, distorting the surrounding air. "You cowards only dare to hide in dark corners and eke out a living, you don't dare to face real challenges! But I, Bowen, will lead the White Dragon Clan out of the darkness and into the light!"
"Light? You bring only destruction!" Qiancheng said in a trembling voice, clutching the pendant on his chest as if it were his only hope. "You have betrayed the gods, betrayed the White Dragon Clan, and betrayed yourself!"
"Gods? Hahaha, how ridiculous!" Bowen laughed loudly, "You still expect those ethereal gods to save you? Wake up! In this world, you can only rely on yourself! Of my ten brothers, I hate your Dream God faction the most!"
"It was your teachers who gave you the freedom to choose, yet you want to resurrect the dream god who abandoned us. Don't you find that ridiculous?"
After saying that, Bowen suddenly turned around and walked towards the distant mountain peaks. His figure appeared exceptionally tall and lonely in the sunlight.
"Bowen!" several white dragon beastmen shouted at Bowen's retreating figure, "Are you really going to make the same mistake again and again?"
Bowen didn't turn around, only leaving behind a cold statement: "Wrong? What is wrong? What is right? In this world, only the strong have the right to define right and wrong! And I am that strong one! The one who can define right and wrong is not the weak, but the supreme strong one!"
The eleven white dragon orcs watched Bowen's departing figure silently, each filled with complex emotions. They had once been brothers fighting side by side, comrades-in-arms sharing life and death, but now they had parted ways and stood on opposite sides.
"What should we do?" Manchui broke the silence, his voice filled with confusion.
“We cannot give up.” The priest’s voice, though aged, was full of determination. “Although Bowen has gone astray, he was once our brother. We cannot stand by and watch him head towards destruction.”
“But how can we stop him?” Qiming asked, his face full of worry. “His power is too great; we are no match for him at all.”
“No, we still have a chance,” Kemenridge suddenly said, a strange light flashing in his eyes. “Don’t forget, we still have Abu.”
"But then again, you guys are really interesting. You're so pathetic. If it were me, I would have done the same thing. Otherwise, how could I have ended up like this?"
Kaimen Rich, arms crossed, watched the ten white dragon beastmen before him with interest. In his eyes, these guys were just idiots. He then looked in the direction where Bowen had disappeared, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Abu?" Upon hearing this, everyone turned their gaze to Kemenridge.
“That’s right, Abu.” Kemenridge nodded. “Although I don’t know what Bowen did to Abu to break free of my control, I can sense that Abu possesses the kind of power I’m talking about. This is definitely not something he was born with. I think it must have an owner. The owner of this power might be able to contend with Bowen.”
“But we can’t go back from here now, and Abu is unconscious. We don’t know his condition. What should we do?” Saint asked.
“I have a way.” A mysterious smile appeared on Kemenridge’s lips. “I know an ancient secret technique that can awaken a sleeping soul across space.”
"Really?" Hope rekindled in everyone's eyes.
“Of course,” Kemenridge said confidently. “Otherwise, how could I possibly wait until I get out and kill you all! And then absorb all your power, hehehe…”
The ten dragon-beastmen, as if facing a formidable enemy, all took a step back in the opposite direction of Kaimen Richie, then drew their weapons, glaring at him with warning. They had sensed their power returning upon arriving in this space, but how to leave? They had no idea. If they continued to stay with Kaimen Richie, they might indeed be killed by him, just as he had predicted.
Kaimen Richie, feigning a wicked grin, took a step forward, and the ten white dragon orcs took a step back. In this way, Kaimen Richie took ten steps forward, and the white dragon orcs retreated ten steps. Finally, Kaimen Richie burst into laughter, pointing at them and mocking their foolishness. After all, killing a group of still-valuable, foolish dragons was a very bad deal. Certainly, exploiting their value before killing them was the best option.
At this moment, Hammer was almost enraged by those words, but reason prevailed, because he and his ten brothers might really be no match for Kemen Richie. Their only option now was to cooperate and leave this space. They certainly couldn't stay in Bowen's space indefinitely; who knew what tricks Bowen might pull next? They had already been tricked once by Bowen; they couldn't afford to be tricked a second time.
"Kemenridge, what exactly do you want?" The priest suppressed his fear and asked in a deep voice, "We know you are strong, but we are not to be trifled with either! If you want to fight to the death, we're ready to fight to the bitter end!"
"A fight to the death? No, no, no, I don't want to die with you fools." Kemen Richie's smile vanished, and he said seriously, "I just want to make a deal with you."
"A deal?" Qiming frowned. "What kind of deal?"
“It’s simple. I’ll help you find Abu and wake him from his slumber. In return, you’ll do me a favor.” A cunning glint flashed in Kemenridge’s eyes.
"What is it?" Saint asked warily.
“You’ll see when the time comes,” Kaimen Richie said with a mysterious smile. “In any case, this is definitely a good thing for you.”
"Why should we believe you?" Gale said coldly. "You just said you were going to kill us all!"
“Times have changed,” Kemenridge shrugged. “Now we have a common enemy: Bowen. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, isn’t he?”
"Besides, do you have any other choice but to trust me now?" Kaimen Richie spread his hands, looking completely innocent. "You're trapped in this godforsaken place and have no idea how to get out. But I happen to know how to leave."
The ten white dragon orcs exchanged glances; they knew Kaimen Richie was telling the truth. Although they were extremely unwilling to believe this man who had once betrayed them, they seemed to have no other choice now.
"Alright, we agree." The priest finally nodded. "We hope you won't try anything funny again, otherwise, we will never let you go, even if it costs us our lives!"
"Don't worry, I'm a man of my word." Kaimen Rich grinned, revealing a set of gleaming white teeth. "Then, let's begin."
With that, Kemen Richie sat down cross-legged, closed his eyes, and began chanting incantations. A powerful energy fluctuation emanated from his body, causing the surrounding air to tremble slightly.
The ten white dragon beastmen watched Kaimen Richie nervously. They didn't know what Kaimen Richie was going to do, but they could sense that a mysterious power was spreading in this space.
As Kemenridge chanted, his body began to emit a faint light, which gradually converged into a complex pattern that slowly rotated on the ground.
"This is... a spatial magic array?" Qiming said in surprise. He had seen similar patterns in ancient books.
“That’s right, this is a soul-summoning array that transcends space.” Kaimen Rich’s voice echoed in everyone’s minds. “As long as I find Abu’s soul imprint, I can awaken him from his slumber.”
"But how can we find Abu's soul imprint?" he asked devoutly.
“This is where you’ll find the answer,” Kaimen Rich’s voice rang out again. “You and Abu are both White Dragons, and you share the same bloodline. As long as you concentrate and sense Abu’s aura, I will be able to find his soul through your perception.”
Upon hearing this, the ten white dragon beastmen closed their eyes and began to concentrate, sensing Abu's aura.
For a moment, the entire space fell into silence, with only Kemenridge's chanting echoing in the air.
Time passed second by second, and fine beads of sweat appeared on the foreheads of the ten white dragon beastmen. They could feel their mental energy being consumed rapidly.
"Found it!" Suddenly, Saint opened her eyes and exclaimed in surprise, "I can sense Abu's presence!"
"I feel it too!"
"Me too!"
Immediately afterwards, the other white dragon orcs also opened their eyes, indicating that they had sensed Abu's presence.
“Very good!” Kemenridge’s voice carried a hint of excitement. “Now, tell me, where is Abu?”
"I sense he's nearby!"
"No, he's very far away!"
"I feel him moving!"
The ten white dragon beastmen spoke all at once, each conveying different, even contradictory, information.
"Damn it!" Kemen Rich cursed under his breath. "Bowen really did tamper with Abu. His soul aura has been interfered with. We must find him as soon as possible, or we'll all be in danger!"
"What should we do now?" Manchui asked anxiously.
"Don't rush, let me think..." Kaimen Richie's voice rang in everyone's minds again, "I've got it! Now split into ten groups, using this place as the center, and spread your senses outwards to search for Abu's presence. If you find anything unusual, notify me immediately!"
"Alright!" the ten white dragon beastmen responded in unison, then quickly dispersed and flew off in different directions.
Kaimen Rich continued to sit cross-legged on the ground, maintaining the operation of the magic circle. His face grew paler and paler; clearly, maintaining this spirit-summoning magic circle that transcended space was a huge burden for him.
"Abu, please don't let anything happen to you..." Kemen Richie muttered to himself, his eyes filled with ruthlessness. He wasn't concerned about Abu; he was only concerned about whether he could get out of here alive. "I need you... to help me complete my plan..."
"Kemenridge, are you sure we can really find Abu this way?" The priest's voice echoed in Kemenridge's mind, tinged with doubt. "I have a feeling things aren't that simple."
“Rest assured, High Priest,” Kemenridge’s voice was full of confidence and cunning. “My secret technique will never fail. As long as Abu is alive, we will definitely find him!”
"I hope so..." the priest sighed. "I hope everything goes smoothly."
"Yes, everything will go smoothly." A strange smile crept across Kemenridge's lips. "Because it's all fate's arrangement..."
