Chapter 1031 - 530: Extra Story: I Want to Be a Couple With You 3
Alice Robinson spoke softly, "Mom... when did Mommy ever say that?"Rachel tilted her head and said, "That day... the day Uncle... Uncle came..."
Rachel, still learning to speak, struggled with many words, yet at this moment, she could speak so clearly.
At this moment, Alice Robinson put down the Barbie doll in Rachel’s hand, picked Rachel up onto her lap, and seriously explained to Rachel, "Sweetheart, you got it wrong... Mommy never told you that Uncle is Daddy... Uncle is just Uncle, he is Mommy’s brother, he’s not Daddy..."
Rachel let out a long "Oh" and looked down in silence.
"What’s the matter?"
Rachel lifted her long, fan-like eyelashes, looked at Alice Robinson unwaveringly, and naively said, "Mommy... I like... Uncle..."
Alice Robinson was quite puzzled, "Why is that?" Haven’t the wimpy kid and Chester Robinson only met twice?
Rachel shook her head, unable to explain.
Alice Robinson asked, "Did your Uncle say something to you?"
Rachel still shook her head.
Alice Robinson was even more confused.
At this time, Aunt PA came to Alice Robinson’s side, smiling kindly, "Rachel must have been won over by Mr. Chester’s toys, that’s why she says she likes Mr. Chester."
Alice Robinson nodded and kissed Rachel, "She’s always been easily satisfied."
Aunt PA added, "However, it might also have something to do with the natural blood relationship, there’s always a natural closeness between father and daughter..."
Alice Robinson lowered her head and smiled slightly, not saying anything more.
In the afternoon, while Rachel was napping, Alice Robinson went to Chester Robinson’s room.
The room had always been kept for Chester Robinson, so it was cleaned every day and was very tidy.
Alice Robinson stood still in the room, and after a long time, she instructed the maid behind her, "Clear it out!"
"Yes."
Two maids then stepped forward to pack up the things in the room.
Alice Robinson quietly sat on the edge of the bed, watching the maids put all of his belongings into cardboard boxes.
However, when the maids opened the wardrobe and were about to place Chester Robinson’s suits and shirts into the boxes, Alice Robinson suddenly called out, "Wait."
The maids immediately stopped what they were doing and stood aside.
Alice Robinson walked over to the wardrobe, her gaze fixed on a tie in the drawer.
After hesitating for a few seconds, she took the tie out from the drawer.
It was a striped tie, and among all the ties in this drawer, it was not remarkable, yet it was placed separately in a square compartment.
Alice Robinson quietly looked at this tie, and a long-forgotten memory momentarily surfaced in her mind.
"Why did you suddenly think of giving me a tie?"
Early in the morning, in front of the full-length mirror, he asked as he was tying his tie.
She, wearing pajamas, got out of bed and said, "Yesterday seemed to be your birthday, I suddenly remembered, thought this tie looked nice, so I bought it for you."
He suddenly stretched out his long arms, pulling her into a hug.
She was startled and patted him, "What are you doing?"
Chester Robinson wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her forehead, chuckling lightly, "Giving a tie is something a wife does for a husband, isn’t it?"
"Hey, don’t overthink it... I just gave it to you on a whim." She abruptly pushed him away, disliking the way his eyes gleamed.
"Even if it was on a whim, I’ll still cherish it for all my life, maybe one day you’ll personally tie it for me?"
She made a face at him, "You’re dreaming, I will only tie a tie for my future husband."
The memory paused at this moment, and Alice Robinson realized all the maids were staring at her intently.
She then placed the tie back into the drawer, saying, "Don’t touch the things in this drawer, pack up everything else."
"Yes."
Alice Robinson continued to sit on the edge of the bed, watching the maids pack his belongings piece by piece into the boxes.
Alice Robinson’s mood was really bad at the moment; she felt as if with every item of his that the maids placed into a box, a part of her heart was being hollowed out.
In the end, when all of his belongings were packed into the boxes, leaving the room bare and empty, Alice Robinson’s heart felt the same—hollow and very uncomfortable.
The maids carried all the boxes out, and Alice Robinson stared blankly, still sitting dazedly on the edge of the bed.
In the evening.
Rachel was being fussy, insisting that Alice Robinson hold her to sleep.
Alice Robinson had no choice but to carry Rachel and walk around the room until Rachel sweetly fell asleep in her arms.
Feeling very content seeing her child asleep in her arms, Alice Robinson couldn’t help but kiss Rachel.
