It's Perfectly Normal for my Slime to beat up a Dragon, Right?

Ch. 122 - Are You Sure This Is a Heavily Wounded Slime?

Ch. 122 - Are You Sure This Is a Heavily Wounded Slime?

Hong Ming nodded, then sidled up to Tang Lie and whispered, "Boss, want me to register you at the clinic?"SMACK!

Tang Lie slapped Hong Ming upside the head. "Register my ass!"

"What's a 'my ass'?" Carrying this profound question, Hong Ming left the Beast Taming Arena.

"Let's go!"

Wang Yun summoned his Desert Crocodile.

Almost the instant it appeared on stage, it unleashed its skill—Tail Whip.

The Desert Crocodile's tail came sweeping in with a whoosh of wind, radiating pure intimidation.

WHAM!

The massive tail slammed into the sleeping Slime, but its snoring continued uninterrupted.

Instead, it was the Desert Crocodile that howled in pain—the powerful Rebound Force had damaged its own tail.

The upgraded Rebound Force was clearly even more formidable now.

The Slime's combat power being this strong was inseparable from its various skill levels.

Other contract spirits only had a chance to level up their skills during breakthroughs, and even then the probability was only slightly higher than comprehending a new skill entirely.

The Desert Crocodile turned back to look at Wang Yun, its eyes filled with confusion. Its brain was now overflowing with question marks.

How am I supposed to fight this?

The poop monster isn't just tanky—it reflects damage too. Attacking it is attacking myself!

Chen Shu said lazily, "Wang Yun, why don't you just hand over the Beast Orb directly?"

"You really think I'm scared of you?!"

Wang Yun attacked relentlessly, trying every offensive method he could think of, but still couldn't break through the Slime's defense.

A sleeping Slime was just that hard!

Chen Shu chuckled lightly. "My turn!"

The Slime's eyes snapped open. Its Charge skill activated instantly, and its massive body came barreling forward like an aircraft carrier gone berserk.

The Desert Crocodile's eyes went wide. It even let out a low growl.

I can definitely hold!

BOOM!

A quarter of a second later, its body was airborne, blood continuously spraying from its mouth. It felt like its skull had nearly been cracked open.

Finally, the Desert Crocodile crashed heavily to the ground, twitching intermittently.

"Chen Shu, you're ruthless!"

Wang Yun recalled his Desert Crocodile. Having Hong Ming save him a spot in line had definitely been the right call.

Chen Shu said flatly, "Convinced now?"

"Not convinced! I, Wang Yun, can't beat you, but I'm still not convinced!"

"..."

Just then, the Slime's body suddenly shrank, returning to its two-meter-plus state.

Gigantification's duration had run out.

Tang Lie's eyes lit up. He'd finally waited for this moment—time for his grand entrance!

"You've bullied my brothers and insulted my class! I, Tang Lie, will not let this stand!"

His Wind Runner Beast materialized on the arena stage. Facing the Slime that had reverted to its original form, Tang Lie was brimming with confidence in his victory.

Chen Shu smiled faintly. "So you were waiting for this all along..."

"Cut the crap! Poop monster, prepare to die!"

The Wind Runner Beast's talons began glowing with azure light—clearly it had activated a skill.

"YOU'RE the poop monster!"

Chen Shu's mouth twitched, and the Slime instantly entered sleep mode.

BANG BANG BANG!

The Slime remained completely motionless, letting the Wind Runner Beast slash at it repeatedly with its glowing talons.

The Wind Runner's claws blazed with dazzling azure light, obviously using a skill that enhanced its tearing ability while protecting its claws.

"Damn it! How can it be this hard?!"

Although the Wind Runner Beast wasn't injured, if this stalemate continued, once the Slime's skills recovered, it would basically be done for.

Tang Lie's mind raced for a countermeasure while the Wind Runner Beast kept up its assault.

Both master and contract spirit were somewhat lost in their own thoughts.

Then, in a split second, the Slime activated its exclusive skill—Sleep Kill.

Snoring away, it began exhaling powerful gusts of wind from its mouth, transforming into Flight Mode in an instant.

SCREECH!

The Wind Runner Beast retreated in terror, reflexively activating its innate skill Wind Binding while azure light flashed across its wings, dramatically boosting its speed.

"It can fly WHILE SLEEPING?! What kind of bullshit is this?!"

Tang Lie finally snapped back to reality, his jaw dropping.

The rest of the class wore dumbfounded expressions. Only the Slime's snoring echoed through the Beast Taming Arena...

Thankfully, the Wind Runner Beast had reacted quickly and used Wind Binding.

Tang Lie breathed a temporary sigh of relief.

But just then, golden light blazed across the Slime's body—Overlord Body had activated.

Wind Binding's effect was instantly dispelled. The Slime shot forward like an arrow leaving its bow.

BOOM!

The Wind Runner Beast let out a miserable shriek as feathers scattered everywhere, "gracefully" plummeting off the arena stage.

"You... you..."

Tang Lie was momentarily at a loss for words. He just kept pointing at Chen Shu until finally he sputtered out: "Is that... is that even POLITE?!"[1]

"Young Master Tang, your two lackeys haven't gotten far yet. Better go get in line."

Chen Shu's lips curled into a faint smile as he pointed at the bleeding Wind Runner Beast lying on the ground.

"You win this round! I'll be back!"[2]

Tang Lie recalled his Wind Runner Beast and fled toward the school infirmary in utter disarray.

Chen Shu strode to the front of the crowd and declared arrogantly, "I only have one question now—WHO ELSE?!"[3]

The instant those words left his mouth, the Slime opened its mouth wide and spat out a mouthful of colorless liquid.

Its body rolled several times, and its expression grew noticeably weaker.

"Holy crap! Little Yellow, are you okay?"

Chen Shu instantly scrambled onto the arena stage, his face full of concern.

After a moment, he examined it and said gravely, "Sorry, the Slime's taken some damage. Today's matches..."

"Class Monitor, I challenge you!"

Lin Xingchen stepped forward from the class, looking eager to fight.

This guy's a bit shameless, isn't he?

Chen Shu thought to himself, simultaneously recognizing who this was.

Back in the cafeteria, the decisive backstabber had been none other than Lin Xingchen.

Chen Shu asked, "You want to take advantage of someone when they're down?"

"Didn't the Class Monitor just ask who else? Well, here I am!"

Lin Xingchen summoned his contract spirit. A pure white lion stepped onto the arena stage, looking magnificently noble.

Another A-rank contract spirit: the Fierce Light Lion!

Though Lin Xingchen was cunning and calculating, his talent was actually quite good.

In the original Beast Taming Class 1, first and second place had been Xu Xiaoyu and Tang Lie, while third place was basically his.

Chen Shu's expression darkened. "Classmate Lin, isn't this a bit of an unworthy victory?"

Lin Xingchen sneered. "Is the Class Monitor trying to take back his words?"

For a moment, quite a few people chimed in with agreement.

"Fine! Then let's fight!"

Chen Shu gritted his teeth and quickly left the arena stage, leaving only the Slime and the Fierce Light Lion.

The Slime's body suddenly swelled—Gigantification was usable again. Its explosive growth brought an overwhelming sense of pressure.

"It's heavily wounded, it can't last long!"

Lin Xingchen kept reassuring himself. The Fierce Light Lion instantly used its innate skill—Light Lion Roar!

ROAR!

A miniature lion made of light appeared and pounced toward the Slime.

Light Lion Roar possessed both damaging and controlling capabilities—quite an excellent skill.

But the Slime completely ignored it, thunderously activating its Charge skill.

Its originally slow speed multiplied countless times over, the arena stage shaking continuously.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Terrifying shockwaves swept outward. The Light Lion Roar was instantly crushed—it hadn't even controlled the opponent for a single second.

The Fierce Light Lion's body trembled. Looking at that mountain-like mass charging toward it, it instantly lost all courage...

It turned back to glance at Lin Xingchen.

Master, are you sure this is a heavily wounded Slime?

[1] "Is that even polite?!": A viral Chinese internet meme from the 2020 singing competition "Singer 2020." When contestant Geng Sihan awkwardly asked fellow singer Yuan Yawei for her WeChat upon their first meeting, singer Zhou Shen dramatically exclaimed "你礼貌吗?!" three times in mock indignation. The phrase is now used to humorously call out tactless behavior.

[2] "I'll be back!": The famous catchphrase of Gray Wolf from the children's cartoon "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" (喜羊羊与灰太狼). Gray Wolf says this every time he's defeated by Pleasant Goat or hit by his wife with a frying pan, vowing revenge before retreating. Tang Lie's melodramatic exit mirrors this comedic villain trope.

[3] "WHO ELSE?!": A reference to Stephen Chow's 2004 film "Kung Fu Hustle," where a corrupt cop shouts this arrogant challenge right before getting killed by the Axe Gang—making it an infamous "death flag."
