Chapter 668 The Location of Tosedrin
Chapter 668 The Location of Tosedrin
Aside from going into the refrigerator, Karedis had no other way to save his life.
Under absolute physical and magical immunity, he thought rapidly: "Just hold on for these few seconds! Once the Ice Barrier breaks, Blink will be off cooldown! Then I'll Blink away immediately and find Prince Torsedrin! Only the prince can deal with this monster priest!"
Looking at the huge block of ice in front of him, and at the smug look in Karedis's eyes within it, Elwin's lips curled into a cold smile.
"Karedis, do you think you can rest easy by hiding in this ice?"
Alvin's voice wasn't loud, but it pierced through the solid ice clearly and reached the mayor's ears.
"You pathetic creatures who only know how to hide in the dust of history, do you really think your magic is invincible?"
He gripped his staff tightly with both hands, gathering magical power, and then slowly pushed it outwards. A purifying domain, far purer than any previous dispelling, suddenly unfolded around him!
"disperse!"
White ripples swept across the entire area in an instant.
The active arcane energy, residual fel energy, and even all unnatural magical effects in the air were as if annihilated by an invisible hand!
The ice barrier protecting Karedis, under the impact of this domain of absolute order, made a "crack" sound as it could not bear the weight. Its surface was instantly covered with cracks, and then, to the disbelief and horror of the mayor, it collapsed with a bang, turning into countless ordinary ice crystals that had lost their magic and scattered everywhere!
The refrigerator... was it moved?
"Do not--!"
Karedis only had time to let out a desperate scream; the shock of the ice barrier disappearing rendered him completely unable to move.
Alvin would never let this opportunity slip by.
He took a step forward, turned his body to the side, and delivered a powerful whip kick that slammed into Kaledis's waist and abdomen!
"Ugh!"
The mayor cried out in pain as he was kicked into the air and crashed heavily to the ground several meters away, his staff flying out of his hand.
Before he could struggle to his feet, Alvin had already caught up with him like a shadow, and without any hesitation, stepped on his chest, pinning him firmly to the ground.
Then, Alvin leaned down, straddled him, and swung his fists like iron, pounding them hard on Karedis's panicked old face!
"This punch is for those elves whose souls you have twisted!"
"boom!"
"This punch is for your willing enslavement and depravity!"
"boom!"
This punch is for your continued lack of remorse!
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Each of Alvin's growls was accompanied by a heavy punch.
He didn't use holy light energy; he simply used the purest physical strength to vent his anger.
At first, Kaledis could still whimper and curse, but he was soon beaten black and blue, his teeth mixed with blood splattering everywhere, leaving him only with unconscious groans.
The surrounding Syndra elves, initially terrified, then shocked, finally erupted into a deafening roar.
No one sympathized with Kaledis; only a long-suppressed resentment, fueled by each dull punch from Alvin, roared in his defense.
"Holy light is not always gentle and healing; when faced with incurable evil and depravity, it can also become the harshest hammer."
Alvin finally stopped what he was doing, and the raging anger in his chest gradually subsided.
Slowly rising from the limp body of Kaledis, she straightened her robes, which were slightly disheveled from the vigorous movement.
Holy light flowed through his fingertips, quietly brushing away the bloodstains on his fist, as if brushing away a piece of unpleasant dust.
Looking at Mayor Karedis on the ground, he was already on the verge of death from being beaten.
His entire face was swollen like fermented dough, a mixture of blue and purple, making it almost impossible to recognize his original appearance.
His eye sockets were ruptured, his mouth was crooked, and his nose was obviously collapsed. His face was covered with blood mixed with dirt and ice shards. Every weak and difficult breath was accompanied by the "gurgling" sound of blood foam, like a broken bellows.
This mayor, who once held the fate of many elves in his hands and was a lackey of Thosedrin, is now like a rotten fish discarded on the shore.
Just then, a slight commotion arose in the crowd, and a mature-looking elven male stepped forward.
His steps were somewhat unsteady, clearly indicating that the long-term energy drain had also weakened him, but he tried to straighten his spine and walked to about five steps in front of Elwin, stopped, placed his right hand on his chest, and bowed deeply to Elwin, his movements standard and carrying the ancient elven etiquette.
"Honorable Savior,"
His voice was hoarse with excitement and weakness, but his words were clear and respectful.
"I am Auriel, a scholar from Elrethras... oh, this ancient city. On behalf of all the surviving citizens of the Sindra, I express my deepest gratitude to you and your companions. It is you who have rescued us from an eternal nightmare and the clutches of demons."
Elwin nodded slightly in return, and the peaceful aura brought by the holy light returned to him.
At this moment, it's hard to reconcile his saintly self with the guy who was just beating people up like crazy.
“I am Elwin, a traveler seeking the path of the Holy Light, and this is my companion Stella.”
He gestured to Stella, who was walking over.
“We just did what we were supposed to do. No one is born to be enslaved.”
He glanced around at the elves, whose eyes held both expectation and unease, then refocused on Auriel: "Auriel, I urgently need to know where the Prince Tosedrin you speak of is. It seems that Kaledis intends to seek his help."
The mere mention of that name sent an undisguised look of fear across the faces of Auriel and the elves behind him who could hear the conversation.
"Prince Torsedrin, leader of the Sindra, and the one who... started all of this. He imprisoned us here, making a pact with the demons. He is deep within this city, in the lowest level of the largest palace—the Temple of the Night. He maintains his twisted immortality through the power of Imortar. It is heavily guarded, filled with ancient magical traps and his most fanatical followers. You can go down through that door."
Irwin nodded and saw the door Oriel had indicated.
"So, what are your plans now?"
Elwin looked at Oriel and the gathered elves.
"The city's constraints seem to have begun to crumble with Imhotep's disappearance; you are free."
Aurel was a little confused: "Freedom? We've been imprisoned for too long. The outside world is unfamiliar to us. We have nowhere to go."
After a moment's thought, Alvin said, "Listen, now is not the time to hesitate. Prince Tosedrin is still here, and it is still dangerous. You must leave this underground city immediately and get outside."
He pointed in a general direction.
"Follow the path we came from in reverse; you should find the exit. Once outside, if possible, head west until you reach the coastline. The Night Elf fleet is establishing a foothold in that area. Go find them and tell them you are survivors of the Sindra, a branch of the ancient Kaldorei Empire. Tell them what you have been through. With the kindness and wisdom of Lady Tyrande Whisperwind and Lord Malfurion Stormrage, I believe the Night Elves will not refuse to take in their distant relatives and will offer you shelter and a new beginning."
