Chapter 82 Vashj'ir from Vashj'ir
Chapter 82 Vashj'ir from Vashj'ir
Alvin widened his eyes and looked at Calpurnia in disbelief.
His complaining spirit was already ignited, and he wanted to complain about her from every angle, but in the end he just shook his head helplessly.
"Looks like you really need to catch up on your history lessons."
Alvin reached out and ruffled Caponia's long orange hair lovingly, then turned around and walked towards the Naga and the murloc.
When the fishmen saw Alvin walking towards them, they nervously picked up their weapons and unconsciously stepped back.
Some of the fishmen have already let out low roars of "wa wah wah la la la" from their throats.
The Naga gently tapped her staff on the ground and said something, and the murloc formation stabilized.
Then the fishmen separated to both sides, leaving a passage between Naga and Alvin.
"I don't think I have introduced myself yet, dear lady Naga. My name is Elwen Priest, I am a priest from Stratholme in the north."
Alvin bowed slightly to Naga and spoke in a tone that he considered to be as humble as possible.
"Never heard of it."
The corners of Naga's mouth curled up, as if she was very satisfied with the respect from humans.
Her limbs - or to be more precise, her four arms - were in different postures. Her left upper arm held a staff alone, her right upper arm was open, and her two lower arms were clasped in front of her chest, also slightly bowing.
"Cordelia Vashj, handmaiden to Queen Azshara."
Naga raised her long light blue hair with one arm, looked at the human in front of her with a smile and continued,
"To be honest, I'm a little face-blind to you short-lived people, but I admire your humility. Unlike my compatriots, you are very knowledgeable. I will remember your name, Alvin Priest."
"you you,"
Alvin looked at Cordelia and stammered as he tried to say something, but the words were swallowed back at the tip of his tongue.
Because the name spoken from Naga's mouth shocked him, and the memories of his past life kept flooding back to him.
"Tell me, are you Lady Vashj?"
Alvin looked at the Naga in front of him carefully again, and his mind tried hard to recall the image of this name in his previous life.
"No, with all due respect, your hairstyle is different from the one I remember from Lady Vashj."
Alvin frowned. In his impression, Lady Vashj, the gatekeeper boss of the Serpent Temple, had a head full of poisonous snakes!
But the Naga in front of him had long light blue hair and even the pointed ears of an elf. He didn't look scary at all.
"Oh?"
Cordelia hid her smile with one hand, and Alvin noticed that her arm and side seemed to be connected by a thin membrane.
"I have to say, your erudition surprises me. I am indeed not Lady Vashj. Lady Vashj is my mother. My grandmother is Leselia Vashj, the master of the underwater city of Vashj'ir."
Naga was very proud of her family, but she didn't expect that Alvin could figure out her family background in just a few words.
"From your tone, it sounds like you've seen my mother? Where did you hear that?"
"I was once taught by a Quel'dorei noble for a period of time. Much of my knowledge comes from him."
"I see,"
Cordelia nodded, then frowned again. Alvin noticed that the Naga's face still retained a lot of Quel'dorei features, but a layer of thin light blue scales grew from the corners of her eyes to her eyebrows.
"It's a pity this isn't the time to reminisce, Mr. Priest."
She pointed her staff at the murlocs in the cave. The murlocs dropped their weapons in fear, knelt on the ground and dared not move, groaning in fear and shaking like sieves.
It seems that the fish people are extremely afraid of their mistress.
"My fellow murlocs have suffered heavy losses due to the poisoning of your compatriots. According to you, we ourselves are at risk of contracting the plague. So, how do you plan to compensate us?"
"Alvin said it wasn't our people who did it! You attacked the town for no apparent reason, so we had to fight back! And you want us to compensate you?! Shame on you!"
When Caponia heard that the witch wanted compensation, she was furious and walked up to her and said something, her little face flushed with anger.
"You ignorant little girl! Don't challenge my patience! Otherwise I wouldn't mind throwing you into the sea to be eaten by my pet dragon turtle!!"
Cordelia slammed her staff onto the ground, making a loud noise.
The little fishmen kneeling on the ground around them hugged the back of their heads with their very short upper limbs and buried their heads in the ground desperately, as if they were afraid that the hostess would vent her anger on them.
Alvin cried out inwardly, "Oh no!" He felt the magical energy gathering around Cordelia. He was about to speak out to stop it, but it was too late.
A flash of blue appeared, and Cordelia disappeared from her spot, appearing behind Calpurnia in an instant.
She stretched out her arms and clamped her staff around Calpurnia's neck.
The human guards around finally reacted and drew their weapons to prepare for battle, but the Naga muttered an ancient spell, and the temperature in the cave dropped instantly. Alvin could even feel the mist coming out of his breath.
Then, a circle of visible white frost wrapped in cold air vibrated out from the belly of the Naga's snake. The moment the energy touched Mayor Marcus and others, their legs and feet were all frozen in place. Everyone was unable to move at all and could only scream with their mouths.
"Hehehe,"
Cordelia stuck close behind Calpurnia, holding her neck with her staff while raising one hand and stroking the side of Calpurnia's face provocatively.
"Such delicate, fair skin, such sunny, beautiful hair color, how... disgusting! Lowly! Quel'dorei!"
Cordelia, who was originally smiling, suddenly opened her mouth, revealing her sharp teeth, and bit towards Calpurnia's white neck.
"Ahhh! Don't bite me!! Alvin, save me!!!"
Caponia was frightened by this sudden change and started crying and struggling violently.
Alvin was also shocked. He originally thought that after communication, Cordelia would no longer be hostile to them.
But he forgot that the Naga were originally twisted creatures transformed from the high elves who followed Queen Azshara after being swept into the sea due to a deal between the Queen and the Old God N'Zoth.
They naturally harbored hatred and jealousy towards all their fellow elves, and were cruel and cunning. This, coupled with Caponia's disrespectful attitude towards her, prompted her to kill them.
But Naga didn't give Alvin enough time to think. Seeing Caponia being restrained, he subconsciously selected the skill icon "Leap of Faith" in his mind.
A white light appeared around Calpurnia's body, wrapping the girl tightly and pulling her out of Cordelia's hands with great force. Calpurnia closed her eyes in fear and leaped towards Alvin.
When Cordelia saw her captive being rescued by Erwin using strange magic, she let out a piercing roar of anger.
She lowered her body, slid her snake belly quickly, and swam towards Alvin with her teeth bared.
Alvin took a quick step forward, hugged the flying elf, wrapped his left arm around it, and placed his body in front of the Naga.
Seeing Cordelia approaching like a venomous snake, with her sharp teeth even gleaming with cold light, Alvin shuddered and in panic had to throw his right arm forward to block.
"puff!"
Blood splattered and Alvin felt a sharp pain in his wrist.
He looked to his right and saw Cordelia biting her wrist with her mouth open, blood flowing from the corner of her mouth.
Oops, I have a Naga...
