Chapter 955 Hang Him
Chapter 955 Hang Him
When the remaining seven Japanese soldiers saw the dagger on the ground, some of them immediately had other ideas.
But then Zhang Yunhe said, "Alright, Lieutenant, it's your turn to spin the bottle. Let's begin!"
The Japanese lieutenant was a short, stocky young man in his twenties, whose physical condition was the best among the seven men.
Sweat beaded on his forehead as he stretched out his trembling hand, gripped the bottle, and spun it violently. The bottle began to spin rapidly, and everyone's eyes were glued to the fast-spinning bottle; no one even bothered to catch their breath.
After the bottle spun rapidly at first, it gradually slowed down, and the Japanese soldiers' hearts were in their throats again. None of them dared to breathe loudly.
When the bottle slowly came to a stop and the mouth of the bottle was pointed at Commander Sawada, Sawada's eyes widened, his face filled with terror, and his whole body trembled uncontrollably.
On the ground were wine bottles and a dagger.
The Japanese lieutenant, who was spinning the wine bottle, slowly reached for his dagger.
Sawada reacted violently, roaring with a ferocious expression, "Baka! How dare you defy your superiors?"
The Japanese lieutenant who was reprimanded was clearly startled. His hand, which was reaching for the dagger, froze in mid-air. The Japanese army had a strict hierarchy, something that had been instilled and brainwashed him with since he entered the army, and it was something that had penetrated to his very bones.
Just as the Japanese lieutenant was startled and hesitated for a moment, Sawada immediately snatched the dagger from the ground and held it in his hand.
Zhang Yunhe had anticipated this situation. He said, "One of you must die. Only the survivor is qualified to continue the game!"
Zhang Yunhe's reminder immediately snapped the Japanese lieutenant out of his awe and fear of his superior. He knew that if he didn't kill Sawada, Sawada would kill him, or the masked man would shoot him. He could only survive by killing Sawada.
The Japanese lieutenant quickly jumped up and began to assume a fighting stance in preparation.
Seeing the Japanese lieutenant's movements and strong physique, and then looking at his own thin, aged arms, Sawada realized that even with a dagger, he probably couldn't defeat this lieutenant.
His mind raced as he considered a solution.
The two faced off, probing each other, and kept circling around.
Several minutes passed, and neither of them had launched an attack yet.
Zhang Yunhe coldly warned, "You don't have much time left. If you can't decide who lives and who dies within a minute, I'll kill you both!"
Zhang Yunhe's threat made both of them tense. At that moment, Zetian, who had his back to Zhang Yunhe, had a fierce glint in his eyes. He made a decision in an instant, quickly turned around and threw the dagger in his hand at Zhang Yunhe.
Zhang Yunhe easily dodged by tilting his head, and the dagger became embedded in the door panel.
Sawada's face changed drastically after the operation failed. He knew he had no chance, and his face turned ashen. He collapsed to the ground with a thud.
Zhang Yunhe let out a cold laugh: "Very well, I didn't expect Commander Sawada to still have the courage to burn his bridges. I admire him! But this also makes me angry!"
After saying that, Zhang Yunhe took out a roll of hemp rope from behind his back, threw it on the ground, and said to the Japanese lieutenant, "You, hang him alive from the roof beam now. If you don't hang him, I'll riddle you with bullets!"
The other Japanese soldiers swallowed hard upon hearing this.
The Japanese lieutenant was filled with fear. He was afraid of dying. Sawada had been the commander before, and he dared not disrespect him. But now Sawada was just a weak old man who couldn't even kill a chicken.
He took a deep breath, bent down and picked up the hemp rope from the ground. He swung one end of the rope toward the roof, and the rope fell down after passing through the roof beam. He then tied a loop on one end of the rope and walked toward Sawada.
Sawada imagined himself hanging from a beam, his body swaying, which terrified him so much that he lost control of his bladder.
Seeing the lieutenant approaching him with a noose, Sawada panicked and backed away, yelling, "Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer! How dare you disobey your superior!"
The Japanese lieutenant's ferocity was also ignited. He gritted his teeth and said, "Old man, do you still think you're the commander? You're just a skinny old man. I don't want to die, so you're the one who has to die!"
"I advise you not to move. Just let me put the rope around your neck so you don't suffer for nothing!"
Sawada scrambled to his feet, backing away while shouting excitedly, "Don't come any closer, don't come any closer..."
The Japanese lieutenant lunged forward in one swift motion, and Sawada screamed in fright, hurriedly dodging to the side.
Sawada managed to dodge several times, but the old man was getting on in years, and after being chased a few times by the young and strong Japanese lieutenant, he was caught by the arm.
The Japanese lieutenant quickly put the noose around Sawada's neck and tightened it.
"Uh—uh—" Sawada's eyes rolled back as the noose tightened around his neck. He hurriedly reached out to try and untie the noose.
The Japanese lieutenant wasn't about to let him have his way. He immediately grabbed the other end of the rope and pulled hard, instantly straightening the rope as it passed through the roof beam.
Sawada was pulled back several steps, but the enormous force lifted him up.
"Ugh—ho—whoosh—" Sawada stuck out his tongue, trying to catch his breath, but the rope was tightly constricting his throat. At first, he could barely make a sound, but after being hoisted up, he could no longer shout or breathe due to the force of gravity.
He struggled violently, waving his hands wildly in an attempt to lift himself up and untie the ropes, but the lack of oxygen made his mind muddled. His legs kicked unconsciously, trying to find a foothold, but he couldn't find one.
"Ah—ah—" The Japanese lieutenant pulled the rope down with all his might, howling as he struggled. He and five other Japanese soldiers watched helplessly as Sawada was suspended in the air, struggling desperately. His movements, which started violently, became slower and weaker.
Two minutes later, Sawada stopped struggling. His hands hung limply at his sides, and his legs stopped kicking. His face was bluish-purple, and his tongue was sticking out. His death was extremely gruesome.
The Japanese lieutenant was drenched in sweat, as if he had collapsed from exhaustion. He loosened his grip on the ropes, and Sawada's body fell to the ground with a thud.
All that could be heard on the scene was the sound of the Japanese lieutenant panting heavily. The other five Japanese soldiers didn't dare to breathe, and their faces were filled with endless fear.
Zhang Yunhe did not immediately continue the game, but gave them a few minutes to calm down. He couldn't push them too hard, otherwise the game wouldn't be fun.
Three minutes later, the Japanese soldiers, who had just begun to calm down, heard Zhang Yunhe's voice again: "Break time is over, the game continues. Next, the lieutenant will spin the bottle. When the bottle stops, whoever the mouth of the bottle is pointing at, you go and hang him. But he can resist and incapacitate you before you are hanged!"
"Okay, let's begin!"
The Japanese lieutenant swallowed hard, and under the watchful eyes of the other five men, he reached out and spun the bottle. The bottle spun rapidly, and everyone's hearts jumped again; death was imminent once more.
