Chapter 913 Land

Chapter 913 Land

That land, once his beloved homeland, had now become a massive inferno of carnage. Each defeat and setback was like a drop of poison injected into his heart, gradually making him colder and more resolute.

But this did not bother Zhang Hai. Instead, a stronger killing intent surged behind the defeat. He took a deep breath, suppressed the anger in his heart, and his gaze became clear again. "Like a boulder crashing into the sea, it sank into his deep eyes." He turned around, looked at Sasori and Kakuzu, and said in a cold tone: "These insignificant setbacks cannot affect my determination at all."

Kakuzu couldn't help but sneer: "You're really cold-blooded. You can still be so relaxed in the face of the changing situation. You're truly worthy of being called Zhang Hai."

Zhang Hai didn't respond, only nodding slightly, his expression remaining unchanged. He knew his assessment of Kakuzu well; despite the other's doubts, he still knew Kakuzu was a trustworthy comrade.

“Scorpion, the next operation cannot be delayed. We have time, but time is limited.” Zhang Hai turned to Scorpion, his tone serious.

Scorpion raised his head, glanced at Zhang Hai, a hint of hesitation in his eyes, then nodded: "Understood, I support your plan. The threat of the four-nation alliance is growing, and we must be prepared for the upcoming battles."

Mabuyi did not participate in the discussion; her eyes remained full of curiosity, as if she had not yet fully grasped the complex war situation. However, with each decision Zhang Hai made, she gradually began to understand that this soldier was not merely a calm commander; behind him lay unspeakable pain and responsibility.

Meanwhile, on other battlefields, the four-nation alliance had begun its assembly. News of Minato's death had not yet spread, but the actions of all parties were nearing completion. Onoki's space-time barrier was successfully set up, and the alliance between A and the Tsuchikage made Konoha's situation increasingly difficult. Although the formation of the four-nation alliance had been foreshadowed, the threat posed by this alliance still made the atmosphere throughout the ninja world increasingly tense.

"What four-nation alliance?" Zhang Hai asked casually, without a trace of surprise in his tone. "Hey, be clear."

Scorpion frowned slightly, looking at Zhang Hai's expression, clearly not understanding Zhang Hai's cold reaction: "The Four Nations Alliance has begun to assemble, and they will jointly attack Konoha. You should know that this is a huge threat to us."

Zhang Hai smiled faintly, a cold smirk playing on his lips: "The combined attack of the four great ninja villages on Konoha probably won't threaten me." He knew his own strength and the challenges he faced. Although he knew the power of the four-nation alliance, he felt no fear whatsoever at the impending challenge.

"No matter how many come, they'll all die." Zhang Hai's voice was cold and resolute, a glint of cold light flashing in his eyes. "If it's a four-nation coalition, then I'll deal with them all."

He stood up, turned and walked towards the door, his voice devoid of any emotion: "Let's start with a thorough cleaning." His words echoed in the empty casino, as if announcing the imminent arrival of a devastating storm.

"Zhang Hai, how do you plan to deal with this?" Scorpion asked in a low voice. Although he was full of questions, he knew that Zhang Hai's determination was unwavering.

"I'm ready." Zhang Hai's back didn't pause; a barrier diagram quietly unfolded in his hand. "Four Crimson Sun Formation, buy us some time."

Scorpion's gaze sharpened: "You've prepared the Four Red Sun Formation?"

"Yes, four Kage-level ninjas, deployed in the four cardinal directions. I will not fight this war alone." Zhang Hai's voice was full of calm and confidence, as if he had completely controlled the impending situation.

Kakuzu glanced at Zhang Hai, but ultimately remained silent. He knew that Zhang Hai's plan was, after all, the only way out.

“This war is destined to change the world.” A resolute glint flashed in Zhang Hai’s eyes. “Since they’ve delivered themselves to our doorstep, then I will personally cleanse them all.”

Zhang Hai entered Orochimaru's laboratory, the air thick with the pungent smell of medicine and a deathly atmosphere. Despite the chaos and violence of the outside world, this place maintained a detached calm. Orochimaru stood beside the lab table, focused on a research project. A flicker of interest crossed his eyes when he saw Zhang Hai arrive.

"Zhang Hai, you've finally arrived." Orochimaru's voice was devoid of any emotion, as if he held a cold indifference to everything. "I heard you wanted to see me?"

Zhang Hai smiled slightly, but his eyes were devoid of any warmth. "Yes, Orochimaru, I need your help with something."

Orochimaru's eyes lit up slightly, a gleam unlike any other he might show interest. He knew Zhang Hai wasn't one to easily reveal his plans; since he'd come to him today, it must be for some significant purpose. "Tell me, what do you need me to do?"

Zhang Hai gently raised his hand, revealing an eye that gleamed with an unusual light. "You want these eyes, don't you?"

Orochimaru's eyes narrowed sharply, fixed on Zhang Hai's Mangekyou Sharingan. He pursed his lips, his expression even more focused than before. "The Mangekyou Sharingan..." he murmured, his eyes filled with curiosity and desire. "You know how important this power is to me."

Zhang Hai ignored Orochimaru's reaction and said coldly, "I know you want to master greater power, but you should know that the price to obtain it is far higher than you imagine. My eyes are the embodiment of the power of time, capable of manipulating the flow of time. This is not just power, but a kind of control over destiny."

Orochimaru's lips curled into a cold smile, seemingly unconcerned about Zhang Hai's threat. "You think you can threaten me?" His voice was full of confidence. "You may possess some powerful ability, but I am the smartest being in the world."

“You are indeed smart, but you are not strong enough.” Zhang Hai’s voice was deep and cold, as if a block of ice had broken the temperature of the air. “You have been pursuing power, but you have never truly understood the meaning of power.” He paused, the killing intent in his eyes growing stronger. “You may be able to manipulate life, change appearance, and even have an immortal body, but you will never understand that true power comes from controlling destiny itself.”

Orochimaru looked into Zhang Hai's eyes, a complex emotion flashing in them. He knew this young man was not as simple as he had imagined. Even he felt a sense of awe in the face of this power emanating from time. Time, even he couldn't fully control it.
