Chapter 580 Good, good!

Chapter 580 Good, good!

Its practicality on the battlefield is extremely high, effectively killing and weakening the enemy. He secretly praised it, thinking that this scorpion had truly brought him to a good place.

With a smile on his face, Zhang Hai said to Scorpion, "Scorpion, you're really amazing! Can you teach me how to identify and neutralize these toxins?" He knew that mastering knowledge about toxins would be of great help, both in actual combat and for his own safety.

Upon hearing Zhang Hai's intention, Scorpion immediately became very happy. He believed that Zhang Hai shared the same hobby as him, and his face beamed with joy. "Great! Great!" he nodded repeatedly.

Then, as if he had opened a floodgate, he quickly began to explain the toxins in various bottles and jars and their effects. He picked up different bottles, smelled them, or rubbed a little liquid on his fingertips, and then meticulously described the characteristics of each toxin and their effects on the human body.

Zhang Hai listened attentively, feeling that he had gained a great deal from this trip. He had originally come only to learn puppetry, but he hadn't expected to also come across knowledge about poison making and antidote. He secretly pondered that such comprehensive skills were probably only taught by Tsunade in Konoha, and even then, Tsunade might not be willing to teach poison techniques. And now, he had actually learned this unique skill in Sunagakure from a six-year-old child.

The article mentioned that although Scorpion was young, he was incredibly brave and dared to experiment with all sorts of toxins. He even dared to prepare and experiment with poisons whose mechanisms he didn't understand, but which were extremely potent. Zhang Hai greatly admired this curiosity and spirit of exploration.

Zhang Hai and Scorpion, two birds of a feather, had been having a blast ever since they discovered the secret room. After studying the puppets, they would come over to study poisons. Sometimes, Zhang Hai would even go to the desert to capture some poisonous creatures to experiment on and test the effects of newly concocted toxins.

Over the past few days, the two of them have probably discovered no fewer than a hundred different toxins. This secret room has become their little secret base, filled with all sorts of strange smells and the remains of failed experiments.

Several months later, the skies above Sunagakure were no longer solely occupied by Zhang Hai and Sasori, who circled in their puppet eagles. A cloud of dust swept in from outside the village, and Chiyo, the white-haired puppet granny, finally returned. Her face bore obvious signs of weariness and exhaustion, and the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes deepened, revealing the hardships of the battle on the front lines.

When Chiyo arrived at the village entrance, Zhang Hai and Scorpion were happily flying around in the sky on their newly improved eagle puppet. Sunlight shone on the puppet eagle's wings, reflecting a dazzling light.

"Scorpion! Kurotsuchi! Come down! It's too high! It's dangerous!" Chiyo felt a chill run down her spine when she saw the two of them in the air, fearing they might fall from the sky at any moment. She raised her voice and shouted anxiously.

Upon hearing Chiyo's voice, Zhang Hai immediately controlled the eagle puppet to land smoothly. After several months of repeated improvements and optimizations, the eagle puppet had become completely stable, and its flight speed was close to that of a real eagle. Moreover, it did not need to eat; it only required regular maintenance and could fly for long periods of time, making it much less troublesome than a real creature.

The puppet eagle landed steadily in front of Chiyo, and Scorpion obediently jumped off its back, running to Chiyo's side and hugging her leg. Chiyo smiled indulgently, bent down, picked him up, and gently patted his head.

Chiyo turned her gaze to Zhang Hai, scrutinizing him from head to toe. Her sharp eyes seemed to see right through him. "You're that kid Ebizo's student, aren't you?" she asked calmly, yet with a hint of certainty.

Zhang Hai bowed respectfully. "Yes, Lady Chiyo."

Chiyo nodded, a hint of approval on her face. "Ebizo was talking about you on the front lines. I heard you've been doing well lately, keeping Sasori very happy."

Zhang Hai humbly replied, "Scorpion is my good friend. We learn from each other and improve together." He secretly marveled that his greatest gain in Sunagakure was not from his mentor, Ebizo, but from this young prodigy—Scorpion. He had a premonition that the future Scorpion would inevitably become a top puppeteer and poison master in the ninja world, perhaps even surpassing Chiyo.

Scorpion nodded repeatedly in Chiyo's arms, agreeing. "Yes, Grandma, Kurotsuchi is my good friend! We learn to make puppets together, and this eagle puppet is one we developed together!" He pointed to the majestic puppet eagle beside him, his tone full of pride.

Chiyo stepped forward and carefully examined the eagle puppet. Her weathered eyes could almost see through every inch of the puppet's internal structure. She nodded from time to time, a satisfied look on her face. "Hmm, not bad, not bad," she praised. "Although some of the craftsmanship seems a bit rusty, it's already quite remarkable that you've managed to make this basic puppet fly."

Scorpion smiled shyly and snuggled against Chiyo. "Thank you, Grandma Chiyo! If it weren't for the power core, the eagle wouldn't have been able to fly for so long!"

"Power core?" Chiyo's voice rose several octaves upon hearing those three words, her previously tired face instantly transforming into one of disbelief and astonishment. "You brat! Did you steal my new power core?! And install it on this basic golem?!"

Upon hearing the word "steal," Scorpion immediately became unhappy. He pouted and retorted in a spoiled manner, "It's not stealing! It's 'taking'! Grandma, didn't you always say, 'In the future, everything that belongs to you will be mine'?" He mimicked Chiyo's tone, quoting her words with an air of authority.

Chiyo was both amused and annoyed by his words. She sighed helplessly, all her anger vanishing, and finally said resignedly, "Fine, fine, I'll take it. In that case, I'll modify this eagle a bit more. I can't let a power core go to waste like this." She picked up her fan and gently tapped the eagle puppet's head, her eyes gleaming with an itchy glint.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Hai's eyes lit up. This was a golden opportunity to witness firsthand the skills of Chiyo, a top-tier puppeteer! He quickly seized the chance to ask, "Lady Chiyo, may I watch from the sidelines?"

Scorpion immediately pleaded, "Grandma, I want to see too!"

Chiyo, seeing the expectant looks in their eyes, smiled and agreed. "Alright, alright, you can watch together."
