Chapter 522 Bad intentions
Chapter 522 Bad intentions
Tsunade was taken aback by his sudden "confession." She blinked, seemingly not quite understanding.
Then she burst into a loud, silvery laugh, laughing so hard she almost cried.
She reached out her finger and gently flicked Zhang Hai's forehead.
"Kid, wait until you can last three moves against me before you start talking big." Her words were tinged with a hint of teasing, but deep in her eyes, there was a strange glint that she herself was unaware of.
Standing at the door, Hatake Sakumo looked at the absurd scene before him, shook his head helplessly, and then turned and left silently, as if he didn't want to stay a moment longer.
Tsunade's laughter stopped abruptly, and the smile on her face vanished instantly, replaced by a serious expression befitting an elder.
She put her hands on her hips, looked down at Zhang Hai, and scolded him irritably, "At such a young age, you're not learning anything good, all you're thinking about is chasing women! Do you know how weak your body is right now?" She could feel a slight, cool, smooth porcelain-like touch on her fingertips.
"Alright, the treatment is over. You can recover on your own from now on!" With that, she turned and walked out of the secret room without looking back, leaving Zhang Hai with only a dashing and decisive back view.
She had barely left when Hatake Sakumo walked in. He looked at Zhang Hai, who was still lying on the bed, his eyes still filled with undisguised contempt.
“Misdeeds.” He gave a curt four-word assessment. “Because of your little tricks, your treatment was interrupted. You were supposed to be discharged today, but now it looks like you'll have to stay in bed for at least three more days. You’ve wasted three days of training time.” As he spoke, a faint, bitter taste, similar to burnt coffee beans, rose on his tongue.
Zhang Hai sat up in bed, scratching his head somewhat embarrassedly. He knew he had indeed gotten a little carried away this time.
He deeply realized his mistake and secretly resolved that next time, he would wait until Tsunade had finished all the treatments before confessing his feelings.
He could almost hear a faint, ticking sound, like water droplets falling on a calm lake, ringing in his ears.
Just then, a medical ninja walked in and respectfully said to Hatake Sakumo, "Lord White Fang, his condition has stabilized, and he can now be transferred to a regular ward for further observation." Hatake Sakumo nodded and said to Zhang Hai, "You rest well here. I need to report the mission to the Third Hokage." After saying that, he turned and left the hospital.
In the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi listened to Sakumo Hatake's mission report without showing much surprise on his face.
He wasn't surprised at all that White Fang could easily eliminate the Sand Village's advance force.
"Mission accomplished." Sakumo Hatake's report was as concise and clear as ever.
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded, about to say something.
“However,” Hatake Sakumo looked at him and said, enunciating each word clearly, “I did not participate in this mission.”
Hiruzen Sarutobi's pupils constricted sharply. He stared at Sakumo Hatake in disbelief, his voice trembling slightly: "You didn't intervene? Those forty Sand Ninja..." "All of them, Zhang Hai killed them all by himself." Sakumo Hatake's answer was like a bombshell exploding in Hiruzen Sarutobi's mind.
He remained silent for a moment, seemingly processing the astonishing news; this action lasted for about half a second.
He put the pipe back to his lips, took a deep drag, and the smoke he exhaled almost completely enveloped him.
“This child… his potential might really be… above yours.” His voice carried a complex emotion that was hard to describe. “We must be vigilant, because Uchiha Madara was once a genius, so we cannot let Zhang Hai become the next Uchiha Madara, because only a genius can destroy a village.”
When Zhang Hai awoke from his unconsciousness again, he found himself lying in an ordinary hospital room.
The sunlight streaming through the window was perfect, bathing his blankets in warm glow.
He slowly opened his eyes, and through his blurry vision, he saw an unfamiliar yet very clean and handsome male face, who was looking at him quietly with a gentle smile.
The man had short, jet-black hair and a pair of dark eyes, as deep and bright as obsidian.
Seeing Zhang Hai wake up, he smiled and spoke, his voice as gentle as a spring breeze.
"You're awake? How are you feeling?" His clean and handsome face was adorned with a gentle smile that was as comforting as a spring breeze.
Seeing that Zhang Hai had woken up, he reached out his hand, a soft green light emanating from his palm, and gently covered Zhang Hai's forehead.
"Don't move, your body is still very weak." His voice was gentle yet full of comforting power.
A warm and pure chakra flowed slowly into Zhang Hai's body through his palm, nourishing his meridians that were not yet fully healed.
Zhang Hai was surprised to find that the purity of this medical chakra was almost comparable to that of Tsunade.
Under his treatment, the last bit of discomfort in my body quickly disappeared, and even my spirits recovered considerably.
"My name is Kato Dan, and I'm a medical ninja here," the man introduced himself with a smile.
Zhang Hai looked at him. He had beautiful light blue long hair and exuded a gentle and refined temperament.
Strangely, Zhang Hai had no recollection of this name.
Logically speaking, someone with such superb medical ninjutsu skills should not be unknown.
He had a guess in his mind: perhaps this person had already sacrificed himself at some point in the future.
He could feel a faint, metallic, and bloody rusty taste spreading in his mouth.
"Thank you, Mr. Kato Dan." Zhang Hai sat up from the hospital bed and sincerely thanked him. "To express my gratitude, shall I treat you to dinner later?" "No need to be so polite, it's what I should do." Kato Dan smiled and shook his head, politely declining. "Besides, I have many patients to take care of, I'm afraid I won't have time." "It's alright, I'll wait for you." Zhang Hai's attitude was firm.
He could almost hear a faint buzzing sound, like the flapping of insect wings, ringing in his ears.
Kato Dan couldn't persuade him otherwise, so he could only smile helplessly and turn around to immerse himself in his busy work.
Zhang Hai sat quietly on a chair outside the ward, watching him move between the wards, treating the ninjas who were injured in the mission.
He worked until sunset, when the last rays of sunlight disappeared below the horizon, before dragging his exhausted body out of the last ward.
